Lyft’s Canadian city directory now lists Halifax, Regina and Saskatoon. Halifax was the first launch announced: Lyft said rides there would begin Dec. 17, 2025, while Regina and Saskatoon were described as coming soon. The sources reviewed do not establish the exact launch dates for the two Saskatchewan cities.
Where Lyft is available
Lyft’s current Canadian city directory includes Halifax, Regina and Saskatoon. Its Dec. 17, 2025 announcement said Halifax service was starting that day and characterized Regina and Saskatoon as coming soon. The announcement does not give exact dates for service in either Saskatchewan city.

In the announcement, Lyft EVP of Global Growth Jeremy Bird said the expansion would “help[] us connect even more Canadians across the country.” Lyft also said rides in Canada had grown 23% year over year “this past summer”; that company statement is about Canada overall, not these three local markets.
How the NSSK50 ride offer works
Lyft’s offer page advertises code NSSK50 for new users: 50% off each of the next five rides, with savings capped at CA$10 per ride. The offer is limited in quantity and applies for 14 days after activation. It requires a pickup or drop-off in Halifax, Saskatoon or Regina.

- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
- The offer excludes VoIP phone numbers.
- It cannot be combined with other offers.
- The page does not state a fixed expiry date, and availability may change; check the current terms and whether the code is redeemable before relying on the discount.
Review the live city directory and offer terms before booking. A promotion is not a fare comparison: the available sources do not establish local fares, wait times or service quality relative to other ride-hailing options.
What drivers should know
Lyft’s Oct. 29, 2025 recruitment announcement invited applicants in Halifax, Saskatoon and Regina to use the Lyft Driver app and noted that applicants may need to upload documents. It also advertised a CA$500 bonus for new drivers who completed 25 rides in their first 30 days after launch. That was a historical announcement, not confirmation that the bonus remains available.

Driver eligibility depends on local rules and Lyft’s current requirements. Lyft’s Nova Scotia driver guidance covers vehicle, driver and document requirements, including vehicle age, seating, registration, insurance and inspection. Check the applicable current page before applying; requirements can change and Nova Scotia criteria should not be assumed to apply in Saskatchewan.

In its Q3 2025 prepared remarks, Lyft reported 23% year-over-year growth in Canadian rides and more than 11.5 million rides in Canada during the quarter. These are company-wide Canadian figures, not measurements for Halifax, Regina or Saskatoon, and they do not indicate local demand, prices or availability at a particular time.
