LVMH’s Watches Division took a minority stake in Swiss movement maker La Joux-Perret in November 2025, alongside a strategic commercial partnership. The arrangement is intended to give LVMH’s watchmaking Maisons additional production and innovation capabilities. La Joux-Perret is to remain independent and continue serving its current and future clients; the investment’s percentage and price were not disclosed in the public accounts cited below.
What LVMH’s investment includes
The Federation of the Swiss watch industry said on November 28, 2025, that LVMH Watches had invested in La Joux-Perret and agreed a strategic commercial partnership covering production and innovation capabilities for LVMH’s watchmaking houses. Reuters reported the announcement on November 12, 2025. The manufacturer’s November 2025 news archive also records the minority investment.
This is a minority investment, not a full acquisition. The Federation says La Joux-Perret will remain fully independent and continue serving existing and future clients. Its owner, Citizen Group, will likewise continue operating its own portfolio brands independently. Neither the Federation’s announcement nor Reuters’ report states the equity percentage or purchase price, and neither gives a quantified production target.
What the partnership means for watches
The agreement formalizes work already underway. According to the Federation, TAG Heuer has collaborated closely with La Joux-Perret since 2022 on a solar quartz movement. That movement features in TAG Heuer’s Aquaracer and Formula 1 collections. The announcement also identifies a movement developed for Tiffany & Co.’s Rope watch. These are collection- and product-level examples; the announcement does not identify specific references or say that every watch in either TAG Heuer collection uses the movement.

LVMH and Citizen executives described the alliance as a way to deepen industrial ties and support future development. LVMH Watches Division CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said the companies aim to advance sustainable, high-precision movements by drawing on their expertise in solar energy. That is a statement of intent, not evidence that a particular sustainability result has already been achieved.
Why the deal matters to LVMH and Swiss watchmaking
The Federation presented the investment as part of LVMH’s longer-term effort to strengthen relationships with industrial partners and support its investments in Switzerland. Its November 2025 announcement said LVMH had 16 Swiss manufactures at the time. Reuters described La Joux-Perret as based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and reported that it employed approximately 140 people; that is an approximate figure reported in November 2025, not a current audited headcount.

For LVMH, the partnership adds a closer commercial relationship with an established Swiss movement maker without publicly announcing a transfer of control. For La Joux-Perret, the stated plan preserves independence and service to other clients while adding a strategic relationship with LVMH. The public announcements do not disclose how much production will be involved or how the arrangement may change either company’s output.

- Transaction price: No purchase price is provided in the Federation announcement or Reuters report.
- Production commitments: The partnership is described in terms of capabilities and collaboration, without a quantified target.
These gaps mean the announcement supports conclusions about the partnership’s stated purpose and independence arrangements, but not a valuation, ownership calculation, or forecast of how many movements it will supply.
