Lufthansa announced Allegris service from Munich to San Diego, New York-Newark and Charlotte in 2025. The announcement set launch dates for those routes; it did not mean every Lufthansa flight to those cities would use an Allegris-equipped aircraft. Lufthansa’s later route guidance still lists all three destinations, but warns that aircraft without Allegris may operate to Charlotte and San Diego. Check the exact flight and date before booking or choosing a seat.
Which US destinations have Lufthansa Allegris?
Lufthansa’s 11 February 2025 announcement named three additional Munich destinations for Allegris: San Diego (SAN), New York-Newark (EWR) and Charlotte (CLT). The stated start dates were 30 March 2025 for San Diego, 15 April 2025 for Newark and continuous service to Charlotte from early August 2025. “New destinations” meant additional destinations for the Allegris cabin, not necessarily the start of Lufthansa service to those cities. Lufthansa’s announcement also said Bengaluru service would continue.
A later Lufthansa Group route snapshot, marked as of 19 May 2026, lists Charlotte, Newark and San Diego among Munich Allegris destinations. The same guide shows schedule changes for later seasons, including San Diego service from 14 November 2026, and says route information is subject to change. Lufthansa’s passenger-facing destination page lists Newark and San Diego among Munich’s US destinations and displays seasonal 2026/27 information, but its visible 2026 summer list does not show Charlotte. For a particular itinerary, the live booking result is more useful than a general destination list.
Lufthansa’s 2025 executive statement that passengers could choose between five US destinations from Munich referred to that announcement period. It is not a current count of destinations. Likewise, the release’s figures for Allegris-equipped A350-900s and First Class aircraft describe the fleet at that time, not today.

Does my Lufthansa flight to Charlotte or San Diego have Allegris?
Not necessarily. Lufthansa’s later booking guide explicitly says that A350 aircraft not yet equipped with Allegris may also be used on Charlotte and San Diego routes. A route’s appearance on an Allegris destination list therefore does not guarantee the cabin on every departure. Lufthansa’s booking guide directs customers to check their booking tool for flight-specific details.
- Search the exact origin, destination and travel date in Lufthansa’s booking tool.
- Open the specific flight’s cabin and seat information. Confirm the aircraft or Allegris details shown for that itinerary, rather than relying on the route name alone.
- Check again if Lufthansa changes the schedule or aircraft after booking, particularly for Charlotte or San Diego.
Route and aircraft assignments can change between schedule periods. Lufthansa’s destinations page also notes that route availability is subject to change.

What Allegris cabins and seat options are available?
Allegris covers Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class. Seat choices and advance-reservation rules differ by cabin, fare, frequent-flyer status, route and booking channel; there is no single seat fee that applies to every passenger.
- Economy and Premium Economy: The booking guide describes seat selection at booking, with reservation conditions depending on the fare and itinerary.
- Business Class: Options include a Classic Seat and paid extra-comfort seat types. Check the seats and any charge displayed for your fare.
- First Class: Lufthansa describes Suite and Suite Plus options. Availability depends on the aircraft and flight.
For current features, see Lufthansa Group’s Allegris product information; use the live booking details for the specific seat, eligibility and price. Avoid relying on older published prices, which may not match the current fare or route.

How should travelers compare the three destinations?
All three destinations in the 2025 announcement were served from Munich. The useful comparison is not which route promises a better cabin, but which specific flight offers the cabin and seat you want on your travel date.

What Lufthansa’s satisfaction claim does—and does not—show
In its February 2025 release, Lufthansa reported Business Class satisfaction of “well over 90 percent,” attributing the figure to guest feedback. The release did not give a survey method or sample size, so the number is Lufthansa’s own reported measure, not an independently verified comparison of the three routes.
