Olivia “Livvy” Dunne reportedly bought a one-bedroom, two-bath condominium on West 14th Street in Manhattan’s West Village for $1.95 million, according to the Sporting News, which attributed the details to the New York Post. The reported purchase came after a co-op board rejected her application for an Upper West Side apartment associated with Babe Ruth. The board’s reason was not disclosed in the reporting.
What is known about the West Village purchase?
The Sporting News reported on November 5, 2025, citing the New York Post, that Dunne bought a one-bedroom, two-bath condominium on West 14th Street in the West Village for $1.95 million. That is a reported price, not a transaction independently verified through public records in the available reporting.
The account does not establish the deed or closing date, and it does not include direct confirmation from Dunne or her representative. The purchase should therefore be described as reported rather than independently confirmed.
Why did Dunne miss out on Babe Ruth’s apartment?
The Los Angeles Times reported on July 9, 2025, that a seller accepted Dunne’s offer on a $1.6 million Upper West Side co-op apartment associated with Babe Ruth. The listing agent confirmed to the Times that the offer was accepted and that Dunne later submitted an application for co-op board approval. The board rejected her application about three weeks before the article appeared.

The Times said the board provided no explanation. Dunne also said she did not know why she was rejected. She speculated that the board might not want a public figure living there and joked, “For all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU.” Those were her guesses, not a confirmed reason from the board.
Did social media cause the rejection?
That has not been established. A Sports Illustrated report repeated a resident’s claim, originally attributed to the New York Post, that Dunne had “overshared” on social media and angered the board. The Los Angeles Times account, which confirmed the offer and rejection sequence with the listing agent, reported no reason from the board. The resident’s claim should not be treated as the board’s official explanation.

The Los Angeles Times described the earlier apartment as a place where Ruth was said to have lived from 1929 to 1940; that does not establish it was his only residence. Coverage differs slightly on the asking or offer figure: the Times rounded it to $1.6 million, while other reporting gave $1.59 million. Both are reported listing or offer amounts, not verified sale prices.

In a public video described by the Los Angeles Times, Dunne said, “The co-op board denied me.” She also quipped, “Long story short, don’t try to live in a co-op. You might get denied and you won’t get Babe Ruth’s apartment.” Her comments reflect her account of the rejection; they do not reveal the board’s reason.
