Microsoft reported that LinkedIn Premium first surpassed $2 billion in annual revenue in FY25 Q2, announced January 29, 2025. In the same quarter, overall LinkedIn revenue grew 9% year over year. Those are different measures: the 9% figure covers four LinkedIn business lines, not Premium subscriptions alone. Microsoft’s FY26 Q4 metrics page also reports 9% year-over-year growth for LinkedIn in its latest quarter.
When did LinkedIn Premium pass $2 billion in annual revenue?
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said on the company’s FY25 Q2 earnings call, reported January 29, 2025, that “LinkedIn Premium surpassed $2 billion in annual revenue for the first time this quarter.” The milestone refers to that reporting quarter; it should not be read as a current revenue total or as a claim that Premium still generates exactly $2 billion annually. Microsoft did not provide a standalone Premium revenue breakdown beyond the milestone in the cited reporting. The $2 billion figure is therefore best understood as a company-reported annual-revenue threshold, not a detailed quarterly sales figure.
What does LinkedIn’s 9% revenue growth measure?
The 9% growth reported for FY25 Q2 applies to LinkedIn revenue overall, not solely to Premium subscriptions. Microsoft defines LinkedIn revenue as revenue from four businesses:

The second figure is Microsoft’s reported growth rate, not the constant-currency version. Constant-currency growth adjusts for exchange-rate movements; use that measure only when explicitly identifying it. The metrics page distinguishes the two but does not change the scope of LinkedIn revenue: it remains the four-business-line total.

On the FY25 Q2 earnings call, Microsoft said Premium subscribers had grown nearly 50% over two years. It also said nearly 40% of subscribers had used LinkedIn AI features. These are company-reported subscriber-growth and feature-usage figures, not measures of whether Premium or its AI features improved job-search, employment, or business outcomes. - Subscriber and AI figures: The nearly 50% subscriber growth and nearly 40% AI-feature usage were reported for Premium on the FY25 Q2 call, but do not establish user outcomes.
