LinkedIn Learning has AI courses on subjects from basic AI literacy to machine learning and responsible AI, but its courses generally require an active subscription. You may have access through LinkedIn Premium, an organization, or an eligible Premium free trial; the catalog itself does not guarantee that a course is free to watch.
What AI courses can you find on LinkedIn Learning?
LinkedIn’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) course catalog spans AI fundamentals, practical applications, ethics, programming, data analysis, machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. It also includes material on large language models, prompt engineering, AI safety, and governance. Catalog listings change, so confirm the current course details before choosing one.

Examples listed in the catalog include:
| Course | Listed length | Release date | Potential fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” by Doug Rose | 2 hours 26 minutes | November 21, 2024 | Getting oriented to AI |
| “AI Basics: What Every Professional Needs to Know” by Laurence Moroney | 1 hour | May 11, 2026 | A short introduction for professionals |
| “Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning” by Kesha Williams | 1 hour 56 minutes | May 30, 2023 | Starting with machine-learning concepts |
| “Foundations of Responsible AI” by Vilas Dhar | 1 hour 8 minutes | August 25, 2025 | Ethics and responsible-AI considerations |
These are examples of catalog entries, not a ranked list or a promise of no-cost access. LinkedIn’s course pages and filters let you compare topic, level, and time to complete. The available listings do not establish independent teaching-quality rankings or guarantee particular learning outcomes.

Not automatically. LinkedIn Help says, “To access LinkedIn Learning courses, you must have an active subscription.” Individual access is offered through LinkedIn Premium, and an employer or other organization may provide access. A course appearing in search results, or having a short duration, does not mean it can be watched free.
#1 Best Overall
LinkedIn’s official materials do not establish which individual AI courses, if any, can be watched entirely free without a subscription, trial, or organizational access. Check the course page while signed in and confirm what access route is available to you before starting.
Check for access through work or school
If you are looking for “free AI courses on LinkedIn” or “LinkedIn Learning AI courses free,” first check whether your employer, school, or another organization gives you LinkedIn Learning access. Organizational access may mean you can use the courses without buying an individual subscription, but availability depends on that organization’s arrangements.

Understand the Premium free-trial terms
Some users may qualify for a LinkedIn Premium free trial. Eligibility and trial duration can vary by offer or region, and LinkedIn requires valid payment information. The trial converts automatically to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Read the terms shown in your account, including the end date and cancellation process, before accepting; a trial prompt on a course or learning-path page does not mean every user qualifies.
How to choose an AI course for your goal
- For a first look at AI: Choose an introductory or AI-literacy course, then check its level and time to complete.
- For technical foundations: Look for machine-learning, Python, data-analysis, or neural-network topics that match your current experience.
- For workplace policy and impact: Compare courses on responsible AI, ethics, safety, or governance.
- For a specific skill: Search the catalog for topics such as large language models or prompt engineering and review the individual course description.
Compare subject, level, and duration, then check the course page for current availability and access requirements. Course release dates help indicate when a listing was published, but the changing catalog means a date alone does not show whether a course is the newest or best fit.

A structured option: Getting Started with AI and Machine Learning
LinkedIn Learning’s “Getting Started with AI and Machine Learning” path lists seven courses and ten hours of content. Its stated aims include understanding AI and machine learning, considering accountability and security, analyzing machine-learning models, and developing neural networks with PyTorch and Keras. Listed subjects include AI foundations, linear algebra, deep learning, image processing with Python, reinforcement learning, and hands-on PyTorch.
The path page states that it will be updated on November 2, 2026. If you are working toward its completion badge, check the live path page for current course requirements and timing. The page’s one-month free-trial prompt is not evidence that every visitor is eligible.
