The filings reviewed here document a transfer of operating assets in January 2025, but do not independently establish the program’s later fate or verify the absolute claim that no aircraft had been delivered through October 2026. They do show that the customer arrangements cited during insolvency were conditional or cancelled—not proof of completed deliveries.
What happened to Lilium?
Lilium GmbH and Lilium eAircraft GmbH, the operating subsidiaries behind the aircraft program, filed for insolvency on October 28, 2024, and applied for self-administration proceedings. Lilium N.V., their parent company, said it had been unable to raise enough funding to continue the business and that its directors concluded there was no positive going-concern outlook. Lilium N.V.’s announcement describes the subsidiaries’ filings and the funding shortfall.
The distinction between the subsidiaries and their parent matters: the October filings concerned Lilium GmbH and Lilium eAircraft GmbH. Lilium N.V. entered its own regular insolvency proceedings later, on December 30, 2024. In a January 2025 filing, the parent reported that existing employment contracts had been terminated and that possession of the operating subsidiaries’ assets and operations had transferred to MUC Mobile Uplift Corporation on January 7, 2025. The SEC filing records those developments.
An asset transfer is not evidence that the aircraft program resumed: the filing documents who took possession of assets and operations, not a completed aircraft, flight, or customer handover. In March 2025, Lilium N.V. said its proceedings were in process to wind up the company and that it did not expect distributions to its Class A shareholders. That filing describes the parent’s winding-up process.

Did Lilium ever deliver an electric air taxi?
The available filings and insolvency-period materials do not establish that a Lilium Jet was delivered. They also do not independently verify the complete delivery record after the January 2025 asset transfer or through October 2026. Accordingly, “without delivering a single electric air taxi” should be treated as an unverified absolute claim on this record, rather than a fact established by the cited documents.
What the sources do establish is that the program was still described in future terms during insolvency. In November 2024, the insolvency administrator said the planned first crewed flight was in 2025 and the market launch was planned for 2026. Those were targets announced before the later winding-up statement, not confirmation that a crewed flight, market launch, or delivery took place. PLUTA’s update sets out those plans.

What happened to Lilium’s customer agreements?
The agreements disclosed during insolvency were not evidence of aircraft deliveries. Lilium N.V. reported that Lilium GmbH had signed a binding sales agreement with The Ambitious Group for eight Lilium Jets, with an option for six additional aircraft. Implementation was expressly conditional on Lilium GmbH successfully returning to solvency. The same filing said ASL Group cancelled a reservation agreement for six aircraft after insolvency proceedings began. The filing describes both the conditional agreement and cancelled reservation.
A signed agreement, an option, or a reservation describes a prospective transaction; none by itself demonstrates that an aircraft was manufactured, handed over, or entered service. The cited record does not report a completed delivery to either customer.
