The recap also reports claims about the X39 patch and biological markers—but it is not a transcript, and it does not provide the underlying study details needed to verify those claims.
What the TechTimes recap says the interview covered
Ernest Hamilton’s June 15, 2021, TechTimes article summarizes a live video featuring Schmidt, Jim Caldwell, identified as LifeWave’s chief marketing officer and host, and guest Dr. Melinda Connor. The recap says many of the viewers were LifeWave direct-selling partners.
Schmidt discussed the company’s history, light therapy, and its approach to research and innovation. Connor joined a conversation about energy healing and research. The recap then describes statements about photon measurements, the X39 patch, and company goals. Because it paraphrases the event rather than providing a transcript, it should be read as an account of what the speakers discussed, not as a record of independently established results.
What was claimed about light therapy and X39
Photon measurements
According to TechTimes, Schmidt described a study in which a device detected increased photon emissions from subjects’ hands after LifeWave patches were applied. The recap gives no study title, authors, methods, sample size, publication, or citation. It therefore does not establish what was measured, how the measurement was conducted, or whether the result was independently replicated.

GHK, GHK-Cu, and aging
The article says the discussion turned to LifeWave’s X39 patch and measurements of GHK and GHK-Cu. It attributes to Schmidt claims linking these markers with gene expression, aging, lifespan, and healthspan. TechTimes does not provide the underlying data or study methods, so those links remain claims reported in the recap rather than demonstrated effects.
The seven-day statement
TechTimes attributes to Connor a statement that noticeable benefits from patches had been witnessed within seven days. The recap does not define “benefits,” identify a particular patch or outcome measure, or provide a study design. The seven-day timeframe should not be treated as a demonstrated expectation for users.

What Schmidt said about LifeWave’s research and goals
As summarized by TechTimes, Schmidt described goals that included continued scientific inquiry, product innovation, and bringing LifeWave wellness products to people around the world. He also cited more than ten years of research and over $4 million in funding. Those figures are attributed to Schmidt in the recap; the article does not include a research bibliography or financial records to independently verify them.
The recap also attributes to Schmidt a figure of more than 5,000 published studies on light therapy. It does not list the studies or explain how the count was assembled, so it cannot establish what research the figure includes or whether those studies support LifeWave products specifically. TechTimes notes that Connor had authored ten books at the time of the 2021 article; that biographical detail does not verify the claims discussed in the interview.

How to interpret the article as a reader
The most useful distinction is between what the interview reportedly asserted and what its recap documents. TechTimes provides an overview of the conversation, but not a transcript, study citations, or the data required to assess the physiological claims. It cannot, on its own, establish that a patch increases photon emissions, changes GHK or GHK-Cu, slows aging, extends lifespan, or produces benefits within a week.
The recap names both the X39 and Energy Enhancer patches, but it does not establish current product availability, pricing, regulatory status, or LifeWave’s current leadership or partner terms. Those details should not be inferred from a 2021 account.
