Vacancies and state preference
Vacancies were distributed by state and city. A candidate could apply for a vacancy in one state, and the notice said posting would preferably be in that state, subject to LIC HFL’s organizational needs and the candidate’s suitability. The examination state could differ from the vacancy state; the interview state was tied to the vacancy state.
Eligibility criteria in the 2024 notice
- Citizenship: Indian citizenship was required.
- Age: 21 to 28 years as of 1 July 2024.
- Education: Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% aggregate marks from a university recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Application fee and dates
Online registration and fee payment were scheduled from 25 July through 14 August 2024. The fee was ₹800 plus 18% GST for all candidates, was non-refundable, and did not include bank transaction charges, which the candidate had to bear.
What Junior Assistants were expected to do
The notice described a range of indicative duties rather than a closed list. Work could include processing loans; moving and scanning files and documents; data entry; calling and following up on regular and default EMI cases; supporting recovery work; customer service; managing a cash counter; returning documents; and basic marketing. It also allowed for other work appropriate to LIC HFL’s business.

The notice specified an online examination followed by an interview. It listed the online examination for September 2024 as tentative and said call letters would be available for download 7–14 days before the exam. A tentative schedule is not confirmation of the eventual test date: the advertisement alone does not establish whether the date changed, when the exam took place, or who was ultimately selected.
The official instruction in the notice was: “Candidates are advised to regularly check the authorized website of LIC Housing Finance Ltd. www.lichousing.com for details and update.”
