The “up to 32% off” LEGO Black Friday claim refers to a past deal, not a price confirmed today. Engadget’s Dec. 1, 2024 roundup reported LEGO Super Mario Yoshi’s Egg-cellent Forest Expansion Set 71428 at $7, 32% off at the time. LEGO’s UK event page lists its 2026 Black Friday event for Nov. 27–30, but current prices and stock for the sets in the 2024 roundup are not established by the available listings.
What the 32% LEGO discount referred to
The 32% figure was attached to LEGO Super Mario Yoshi’s Egg-cellent Forest Expansion Set 71428. Engadget reported it at $7 in a roundup updated Dec. 1, 2024, around Cyber Monday. That is a historical US price and discount; it does not establish the set’s current price or availability.
The headline also mentioned Star Wars, but the maximum discount was on the Super Mario set. The Star Wars examples in that same roundup were reported at lower discounts:

When LEGO’s 2026 Black Friday event is scheduled
LEGO’s official UK Black Friday page says its 2026 event runs Nov. 27–30 and that special offers are available while stocks last. The page directs shoppers to check for offers and gifts with purchase: LEGO UK Black Friday offers.
The LEGO US Black Friday page displays a 2026 event summary, but its FAQ text still gives 2025 dates. Because those details conflict, the UK page is the clearer official source for the stated 2026 dates; verify the US page again closer to the event. LEGO’s UK schedule should not be assumed to describe every country’s sale terms.

How to check whether a LEGO offer is a real deal
Before relying on a headline discount, compare the exact set and the full purchase cost. A percentage alone can be misleading if it uses a different baseline, excludes delivery, or applies to a listing with limited stock.

- Match the set number. Check the model number on the retailer page, not just the theme or product name. For example, the historical 32% claim was for 71428, while the 2024 Star Wars example was 75387.
- Check the live price and comparison price. Look for the current selling price and the stated basis for the discount. Do not treat the 2024 prices in the table as today’s reference prices.
- Confirm who sells and ships it. Distinguish LEGO itself from a third-party marketplace seller, and review the seller’s terms and delivery estimate.
- Include shipping and availability. Check stock, delivery charges, and any conditions attached to a promotion or gift with purchase. LEGO says its offers are available while stocks last.
- Compare like with like. Check the same set number across retailers and account for delivery and seller differences before deciding which offer costs less.
What is not verified about the old offers
The reviewed listings do not establish current prices or availability for sets 75387 and 71428, or for the other products in Engadget’s 2024 roundup. They also do not show that either Star Wars or Super Mario currently offers better value. Treat the old prices as historical examples and use a current retailer listing to make a purchase decision.
