There is no publicly verified figure for Larry David’s current net worth. Parade’s June 2026 article repeats Celebrity Net Worth’s estimate of $400 million, but that is a third-party estimate—not a financial disclosure—and David has rejected other large estimates without offering a number of his own.

What is Larry David’s net worth?

The most recent figure in the sources reviewed is Celebrity Net Worth’s $400 million estimate, repeated by Parade on June 26, 2026. It should be read as an estimate, not a verified account of David’s assets. No reviewed source provides an audited or otherwise verified current net-worth figure.

Published figures differ, but they are not a dependable range: they come from different years and sometimes describe different things. The Guardian reported a $200 million personal fortune in 2010. Forbes described David’s wealth as “in the hundreds of millions” in 2015, as summarized by Entertainment Tonight in 2024; that report also noted other reporting that put his pre-divorce wealth as high as $900 million. Those are historical, attributed reports—not comparable measurements of his current finances.

How did Larry David make his money?

David’s wealth is widely associated with his work on Seinfeld, especially his participation in the show’s syndication economics and later licensing and streaming arrangements. He co-created the series with Jerry Seinfeld and wrote and produced it; the show’s continuing value helped generate substantial revenue over time.

The figures often cited in connection with Seinfeld describe different categories of money. They should not be added together or treated as David’s personal balance sheet.

Figure What it describes Source and context
$242 million Estimated earnings in 1998, the year the series entered syndication—not current net worth. The Nation’s 2024 retrospective, reporting Forbes’ estimate.
$160 million Reported value of a Hulu rights deal in 2015—not David’s personal receipts. The Nation, 2024.
$500 million Reported value of a Netflix rights deal in 2019—not David’s personal receipts. The Nation, 2024.

These reported earnings and deal values help explain why large personal-wealth estimates circulate, but they do not establish how much David personally received or what he owns now. Taxes, expenses, investments, liabilities, ownership arrangements, and later income are not fully disclosed in the sources.

How much did Larry David make from Seinfeld?

There is no verified total in the reviewed sources for David’s personal earnings from Seinfeld. The $242 million figure reported for 1998 is an estimate of earnings associated with that syndication year, while the $160 million Hulu and $500 million Netflix figures are reported values for rights deals. None is a confirmed amount paid to David individually, and none tells us his current net worth.

What has Larry David said about his net worth?

When CNN’s Chris Wallace raised a half-billion-dollar estimate in a 2024 interview, David rejected it: “And that’s ridiculous,” he said, later calling the number “preposterous.” He did not provide an alternative figure. Entertainment Tonight’s March 30, 2024 account reports the exchange.

In a 2011 statement quoted by Parade from an interview with Rolling Stone, David said, “I don’t have anything near what I’m reputed to have. My wife got half of it, the whole thing is ridiculous, and yet people are obsessed with the fact that I’ve made millions of dollars from syndication.” This is an earlier comment, not a current financial disclosure. Parade also reports that David told CBS News his 2007 divorce cost him about half his wealth; the available reporting does not establish a precise settlement amount or a current calculation of its effects.

Does Curb Your Enthusiasm show how wealthy Larry David is?

No. The Larry David portrayed in Curb Your Enthusiasm is a fictionalized version of the writer and performer. The character’s home, spending, and lifestyle are part of the show and do not verify the real David’s assets.

The Nation’s 2024 retrospective discusses the gap between the fictional character and the real person while tracing Seinfeld’s syndication and later streaming economics.
