Barcelona has not disclosed Lamine Yamal’s salary. The club confirmed on 27 May 2025 that his new contract runs through 30 June 2031, but the wage figures published around the signing are media estimates and differ in how they count fixed pay, bonuses and net earnings.
What salary has been reported for Lamine Yamal?
AS estimated Yamal’s fixed salary at about €8 million net per year, with reported bonuses potentially lifting it to €15 million net. EL PAÍS gave a higher estimate: around €15 million per season, approaching €20 million with bonuses. Neither figure is an official wage disclosure from Barcelona.

| Report | Reported amount | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| AS, 30 May 2025 | About €8 million net fixed pay annually; potentially €15 million net with bonuses | Outlet estimate; includes reported appearance and Ballon d’Or variables in the higher figure. |
| EL PAÍS, 27 May 2025 | About €15 million per season; close to €20 million with bonuses | Outlet estimate; the report describes the new contract taking effect on 13 July 2025. |
The totals are not directly interchangeable: one report distinguishes net fixed salary from a bonus-inclusive net figure, while the other reports an approximate seasonal amount and a higher bonus-inclusive figure. The club has not published enough contract detail to reconcile them into one definitive annual wage.
What Barcelona officially confirmed
Barcelona announced the renewal on 27 May 2025 and said the contract lasts until 30 June 2031. Its announcement confirms the term and signing, not a salary figure. The contract length is therefore confirmed; the reported pay amounts are not.

Why the reported figures differ
Fixed salary and bonuses are different totals
AS’s estimate separates about €8 million in net fixed pay from a possible €15 million net total including bonuses. EL PAÍS also gives a higher amount when bonuses are included, but its headline seasonal estimate is already around €15 million. Performance incentives can make a contract’s potential earnings materially different from its guaranteed salary.
Net and gross pay are not equivalent
AS explicitly describes its figures as net. A net amount is what remains after applicable taxes and deductions; gross compensation is measured before them. The reports do not provide a shared gross figure, so the available numbers should not be compared as if they use an identical basis.
Different accounts of the pay structure are unverified
Forbes reported anonymous-source claims of €8 million annually rising by €2 million each season, and described competing interpretations of a social-media post. Those claims do not establish the signed contract’s terms. Forbes also noted that interpretations of the post diverged, so it should not be treated as a wage disclosure.
What Yamal reportedly earned under his earlier agreement
EL PAÍS reported that the earlier agreement paid around €1.6 million annually until Yamal turned 18, followed by €5 million per season. These are historical reported figures, not official disclosures, and they should not be confused with estimates for the renewed contract.
What the reports say about special treatment
AS quoted Barcelona president Joan Laporta describing Yamal’s pay treatment as exceptional: “La ficha tiene que corresponderse con su importancia en el equipo, tiene que tener un tratamiento especial, no importa la edad. Es un caso que se sale de la norma” (“The salary must correspond to his importance in the team; he must receive special treatment, age notwithstanding. He is a case outside the norm.”). The quotation supports that the club viewed his role as exceptional, but it does not confirm a specific salary.
