What the November 2024 KTET notice announced
Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan issued the notice on 5 November 2024. Online registration opened on 11 November and closed on 20 November 2024. The final application print deadline was also 20 November. The hall-ticket download date listed in the notice was 8 January 2025.
Those dates belong to a past session, not an open application period. The official portal now displays a later 2026 session; check its live notice and any revisions for current dates rather than relying on the 2024 schedule. The portal describes K-TET as an examination assessing teacher candidates for lower-primary, upper-primary and high-school classes in Kerala.
Which KTET category should you choose?
Choose the category that matches the teaching level or role you intend to pursue, then check its qualification rules in the notification. Category names alone do not establish that an individual is eligible.

The 2024 notice allowed a single online application to cover multiple categories for candidates who qualified for them, with the fee applying separately to each category. It cautioned that qualification details submitted in an application were not pre-verified; certification could be withheld if a candidate was later found ineligible. Confirm your category-specific requirements before applying in a future session.
Exam format, syllabus and qualifying marks
The notification described one objective multiple-choice paper for each category: 150 questions for 150 marks, with no negative marking. Each category had a 2.5-hour session, but the subject and language components varied. Use the syllabus and model questions for the category you plan to take rather than treating KTET as one uniform paper. The official portal provides category-based syllabus and model-question resources; the notification also directs candidates to SCERT and Pareeksha Bhavan material.
The notice listed passing thresholds of 90/150 for the general category, 82/150 for SC/ST/OBC/OEC, and 75/150 for PH categories. These are the thresholds stated in the 2024 notification; verify the applicable category and government rules against the current notice.
Application fees and filing rules
For the November 2024 session, the notification set a fee of ₹500 per category for general applicants and ₹250 per category for SC/ST, differently-abled and visually impaired applicants. These were fees for that notice, not a statement of current-session charges.
Applications were online only. Applicants were told to review their details before final confirmation and retain the final printout. The notice said application printouts and certificate copies did not need to be mailed to Pareeksha Bhavan.
What KTET qualification does—and does not—mean
Passing KTET does not by itself guarantee appointment as a teacher. Other applicable qualifications and recruitment requirements remain relevant, so candidates should check the rules for the particular post and recruitment process.

Where to check current KTET information
For a new application cycle, use the official KTET portal and read the current notification, including any schedule revisions. The November 2024 notice’s dates and fees should not be carried forward to a later session.
