Students checked it online through the Karnataka results portal using an exam identifier; contemporary reports differed on whether additional details were required. The announcement is historical, not a current result alert.
When was the Karnataka SSLC result 2018 announced?
The 2018 Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) result was reported as declared on May 7. Scroll’s report that day was timestamped 11:39 a.m.; India Today reported about 11:15 a.m. in its headline and article body, but a later details field in that same article says noon. Those accounts establish the announcement date, but not one consistent exact time. Scroll and India Today covered the announcement.
How students checked the 2018 Karnataka SSLC result
Contemporary instructions directed students to the Karnataka results website, select the SSLC result link, enter an exam identifier, and submit the form to view the result. The reports do not give a fully consistent list of required fields:
- Scroll’s steps specify entering a registration number. Scroll’s instructions
- India Today also mentions date of birth and other required details, in addition to the registration or roll number. India Today’s instructions
After viewing the result, students were told they could print it for reference. That printout was not the original marksheet.

What the current results portal can—and cannot—confirm
The historical coverage named karresults.nic.in and the KSEEB website as result destinations. The live Karnataka results portal now displays newer examination cycles and identifies the current Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB). Its current disclaimer says: “The results published on net are for immediate information to the examinees. These cannot be treated as original mark sheets. Original mark sheets have been issued by the Board separately.” The disclaimer is from the portal/NIC and KSEAB; it is a current notice, not established as the exact wording of the 2018 notice. The portal’s current pages do not establish whether an individual 2018 result can still be retrieved. If you need an official record, use the relevant board or school channel for guidance on the original marksheet rather than treating an online result page or printout as that document.
