The $45-for-60GB offer is not verified as a current public deal. MobileSyrup reported its return on July 4, 2025; a more recent TELUS-hosted Koodo listing showed 60GB for $50 per month. Whether either price is worth paying depends on what you can actually get, your coverage needs and the plan’s terms—not the old $45 headline alone.
What happened to the $45/60GB offer?
MobileSyrup reported on July 4, 2025, that Koodo had brought back a $45-per-month plan with 60GB of data. That article described the listed prices as including a $10 monthly discount for automatic bank payments. It also reported unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting and one Pick Your Perk feature on the plans it covered. Those are details of the 2025 offer, not confirmation of terms on a current checkout.
A TELUS-hosted Koodo BYOD portal listing crawled in 2026 showed 60GB for $50 per month, rather than $45. A July 2026 secondary report also said Koodo had raised the 60GB plan’s price to $50. Neither source establishes that the same offer is open to every customer now. Check the price, payment conditions and eligibility shown when you sign up.
| Offer | Price and data | What the source establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Koodo 60GB plan | $45/month for 60GB | MobileSyrup reported this offer on July 4, 2025. Its article said the displayed plan prices included a $10/month automatic bank-payment discount. It is a historical offer, not proof of current availability. MobileSyrup’s July 2025 report. |
| Koodo BYOD listing | $50/month for 60GB | Listed on a TELUS-hosted portal crawled in 2026; the listing does not prove universal public eligibility. TELUS-hosted Koodo BYOD listing. |
| Koodo Alberta newcomer offer | $34/month for 60GB | A separate newcomer offer listed on TELUS’s Alberta newcomer page. It is audience-specific, not a generally available price. TELUS Alberta newcomer offer. |
The newcomer price is relevant only if you meet that offer’s eligibility rules. It should not be treated as the ordinary Koodo price. Likewise, Koodo’s prepaid service is a separate category: its official prepaid page describes TELUS network coverage at 4G speeds and a prepaid SIM purchase route, not the terms of the postpaid BYOD listing.

Is the plan worth your money?
There is not enough current competitor pricing in the available sources to support a blanket claim that Koodo’s plan is still a bad deal—or a good one. The $36-for-60GB Public Mobile Canada-US 5G plan cited in MobileSyrup’s July 2025 comparison is historical and does not establish Public Mobile’s price or availability now.
Use the price you can actually obtain, not an old headline. Compare available plans on the same terms: recurring monthly cost, any payment discount, data and speed, geographic coverage, included features, and eligibility. A lower advertised price may not be comparable if it requires a payment method, applies only to a particular customer group, or offers different coverage.

When 60GB may make sense
- You regularly use substantial mobile data and 60GB fits your needs without paying for a larger allowance you will not use.
- The offer is available to you at the stated recurring price, after accounting for any required payment discount.
- You value the included perk enough to use it. Koodo describes Pick Your Perk as a choice of features; examples in TELUS’s announcement include Rollover Data, Premium Voicemail and 3-Day Easy Roam options, with availability varying by plan.
When to keep comparing
- Your checkout shows $50 rather than $45, or the $45 price depends on a discount you do not want or cannot meet.
- You use much less data and can find an eligible lower-cost plan that meets your needs.
- You need cross-border service. The portal listing also showed a $55/month, 60GB Canada-US-Mexico plan, so compare its terms and coverage with other offers rather than assuming the Canada-only 60GB plan includes travel use.
What speeds and perks does Koodo advertise?
In a May 29, 2026 announcement, TELUS said Koodo Pick Your Perk plans with a 5G-compatible device would receive advertised speeds of up to 1 Gbps at no extra cost. “Up to” is a maximum advertised speed, not evidence of the speed a particular customer will typically experience. The announcement does not establish that every plan or device qualifies; confirm compatibility and the plan’s terms before relying on the upgrade. Read TELUS’s announcement.
That 2026 announcement should not be blended with the July 2025 report, which described the plans it covered as 4G with speeds capped at 100 Mbps. The reports describe different points in time. Check the current plan details for the specific service and device you are considering.

What to check before signing up
- Confirm the offer. Open Koodo’s live signup or checkout and verify that the 60GB plan is available to your account and in your province. A portal listing is not proof that every customer can select it.
- Check the recurring price and conditions. Confirm whether the displayed monthly amount requires automatic bank payments, how long the price applies, and whether any other eligibility rules appear at checkout. The $10 payment discount was reported for the July 2025 offers; do not assume it applies to a later listing.
- Match the coverage to your use. Determine whether Canada-only service is enough or whether you need Canada-US-Mexico coverage. Compare the exact included roaming and calling terms rather than relying on a plan name.
- Confirm device and speed eligibility. If 5G speed matters, check that your device and chosen plan qualify. Treat the advertised maximum as a ceiling, not a promised everyday result.
- Choose a perk you will use. Compare the available features on your actual plan and select one that has practical value to you; the available choices can vary by plan.
