| Program | 2026 position | 2025 position | Reported change |
|---|---|---|---|
| ISB | 38 | 53 | Up 15 places |
| IIM Bangalore PGPEM | 64 | 72 | Up eight places |
| IIM Indore | Not listed in the 2026 top 100 | 96 | Absent from the 2026 list |
These positions and year-on-year comparisons are from Financial Express’s report of the Financial Times ranking. A rise in rank is a relative change within that ranking; the available reporting does not establish that a specific curriculum change caused it or that rank movement by itself proves improved teaching or graduate outcomes.
Which Kellogg Executive MBA program was No. 1?
The winner was the joint Kellogg–HKUST Executive MBA, run by Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It was not a Kellogg–HKU program. HKU and HKUST are separate institutions; Financial Express lists the HKU–Fudan MBA (International) separately at overall position 24.
#1 Best Overall
HKUST Business School’s 12 October 2026 announcement says the joint program ranked first overall and first in the alumni network category. The school also reports an average salary of US$607,684, a 69% average salary increase and participant satisfaction of 9.73 out of 10. These are school-reported figures, not independently verified estimates in the available material, so they should not be treated as directly comparable with figures for other programs without checking how each school defines and measures them.
HKUST Business School Dean Prof. Frederik Anseel said: “Thirteen No. 1 rankings over nearly two decades demonstrate the consistency with which this program has delivered value to senior executives around the world.” This is the dean’s characterization of the program’s record.

How does the ranking measure programs?
Financial Express says the 2026 ranking’s score draws on three sources:
- Alumni responses: 52%. The surveyed alumni graduated in 2023.
- Data supplied by schools: 38%.
- Faculty research: 10%.
The report says the ranking considers salary growth, career progress, work experience, achievement of career goals, student diversity and research quality. These methodology details are attributed to Financial Express’s coverage; the Financial Times ranking page itself was not available for independent inspection in the reporting used here.
Rank #3
Because alumni responses and school-submitted information make up most of the reported score, the ranking reflects defined criteria and a particular cohort’s responses. It is not a universal measure of program fit, and an overall position cannot tell an applicant whether a program suits their career plans, finances or schedule.

For an applicant comparing executive MBA options, the ranking is a starting point rather than a decision rule. Consider the measures that matter for your own situation:
Rank #4
- Career goals and progression: Check whether the program’s curriculum and network support the role or sector you are targeting.
- Work-compatible format: Confirm the schedule and attendance expectations against your job and personal commitments.
- Alumni network and exposure: Look at the locations, industries and professional backgrounds represented, not only the network-category position.
- Cost and financing: Compare total program costs and funding options directly. A ranking does not establish affordability or return on investment for an individual.
- Outcome definitions: When comparing salary or career data, verify the cohort, measurement period and method behind each school’s figures.
The reported improvement for ISB and IIM Bangalore indicates stronger relative placement in this year’s table than in 2025. The ranking coverage does not show that the movement caused changes in applicant demand, nor does it establish a guaranteed outcome for future students.
