What Kate Gosselin said about her work
In a TikTok video described by Us Weekly on August 15, 2025, Gosselin described her role as pediatric home-health nursing. She said she worked with one family, providing medical care as well as help with bathing, feeding and dressing. She characterized her hours as part-time to full-time and said balancing work had been difficult when she served two families.
Fox News reported on August 15, 2025, that a workday recap showed a 12-hour day of nursing and caregiving. That describes one reported day; it does not establish that all her shifts were 12 hours.
Us Weekly also reported that Gosselin’s registered-nurse license expired in 2023 and was renewed in 2025. That is the outlet’s account of her licensing history, not confirmation of her status today.

Her explanation for continuing to work
Asked what happened to the show income, Gosselin replied, as reproduced by Us Weekly: “Honestly? Providing for 8 kids, college funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS.” She also said she could have had more saved for her children and retirement without legal expenses. These comments explain how she says she used or was affected by money; they are not an itemized financial accounting.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Gosselin saying, “I love it. I love normal life.” Us Weekly reproduced another comment in which she said, “It’s okay. I’m helping other families and I feel needed and I enjoy helping.” Those are her descriptions of how she feels about the work, rather than an independent assessment of her circumstances.

What is—and is not—known about the TLC money
The August 2025 coverage does not provide audited records of Gosselin’s reality-TV earnings, legal spending, current assets or salary. It therefore cannot substantiate the claim that she “lost TLC millions,” nor establish how much she has or does not have. Her comments identify family support, college funding and lawyers as financial considerations, but do not quantify them.
Us Weekly cited a ZipRecruiter estimate of $69,385 per year for a pediatric home-health nurse in North Carolina. The article does not specify the estimate’s reference year, and it is an occupational estimate—not Gosselin’s reported pay. Her own hours and compensation were not stated in the coverage.
