The Kaiser privacy settlement’s claim deadline was March 12, 2026, and it has passed. You can still check whether you fit the settlement class, but the official site says claims are being processed and does not offer a way to file an ordinary new claim now.
Who was included in the Kaiser privacy settlement?
The settlement class covers current or former enrollees of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan in California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C., who accessed authenticated pages on Kaiser Permanente websites or mobile apps between November 2017 and May 2024. The official settlement notice describes these requirements.

Being a Kaiser member alone does not establish that you were in the class. The plan enrollment, location, authenticated access, and date range all matter. Public information cannot confirm whether a particular person used authenticated pages or met the plan and location requirements; the settlement administrator can address individual questions.
Can you still file a claim?
No. The deadline to submit a valid claim was March 12, 2026. The official claim page says the filing period has passed. The deadline to opt out also passed, so the settlement is no longer open for new claims or opt-outs.

Class membership and payment eligibility are different: class members needed to submit a valid claim by the deadline to receive a settlement payment. If you filed on time, the public site does not show your individual claim status; contact Strategic Claims Services, the administrator.
What is the settlement status?
The Kaiser Privacy Breach Settlement website currently states, “Claims are being processed.” The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted final approval on July 14, 2026. Its order reports a class of 13,134,307 people and 755,551 timely claims, approximately 5.7% of the class. These are figures from the court’s order, not independent estimates: settlement website and court and settlement documents.
The public settlement materials do not provide a reliable date for individual payments. The processing notice is not confirmation that your claim was approved or that a payment has been sent.
How much might an eligible claimant receive?
The agreement provides for $46 million, potentially increasing to $47.5 million under specified conditions. That headline amount is not divided equally among everyone in the class. After settlement administration and notice expenses, plus court-authorized attorneys’ fees, costs, and service awards, the remaining net fund is shared pro rata among people with valid claims.
Rank #3
The official notice estimates an individual payment of $20–$40, but that is an estimate, not a promised amount. The actual payment depends on the final net fund and the number of valid claims. The settlement site does not state an individual payment amount or payment date.
What was the lawsuit about?
The case involved allegations that third-party tracking technology on Kaiser websites and apps disclosed information in ways that violated state laws. Those are allegations, not findings that Kaiser broke the law. Kaiser denied the claims and agreed to settle to avoid the burden, expense, and uncertainty of further litigation. The official notice says the settlement “is not an admission by Defendant.”
Rank #4
This is the Kaiser privacy settlement, not a separate Kaiser text-message or telemarketing settlement, and not a Medicare billing matter.

Strategic Claims Services is the settlement administrator. Contact it at 1-855-783-3816 or [email protected]. The administrator’s FAQ explains that a Class Member Unique ID appears on the emailed or postcard notice and can be requested through the settlement site: official FAQ. The administrator processes claims independently of Kaiser.
