In a December 2024 interview, the newly appointed CEO said he wanted to build “the Hublot of the future,” beginning with company-wide communication and a shared vision for employees. The interview records his intentions at that time; it does not establish whether those plans were completed or define Hublot’s strategy today.
Why Tornare moved from TAG Heuer to Hublot
In its account of an LVMH watch-brand leadership reshuffle in July 2024, Time+Tide says Tornare had become TAG Heuer CEO earlier that year before moving to Hublot. Tornare told interviewer Russell Sheldrake that Frédéric Arnault asked whether he wanted to make the move and left the choice to him. Tornare requested 48 hours to decide.
His reason, as he described it, was the kind of challenge he wanted. He saw TAG Heuer as more of a continuity role, while Hublot offered the opportunity to change direction. “I’m more of a transformer,” he said. He also put the ambition plainly: “There is a need for a transformation. To build the Hublot of the future.” These are Tornare’s stated aims in the interview, rather than evidence of results. What “getting hands on” meant
The headline refers to management and employee engagement, not Tornare personally designing or testing a watch. The interview reports that one of his first actions was to call a company-wide town hall in Hublot’s cafeteria. He said he wanted to hold such meetings regularly so employees could align around a common vision.

He described that effort as spanning roles across the company, from polishers and sales assistants to lawyers. In his words: “I want to keep on doing it on a regular basis moving forward. Whoever you are – a polisher, a sales assistant, a lawyer in the company – you need to get everyone on board with the same vision.” The comment is a description of his intended communication approach, not a report that regular meetings continued.
How he described Ricardo Guadalupe’s role
Tornare spoke respectfully of Ricardo Guadalupe, whom the interview identifies as Hublot’s Honorary President. He said Guadalupe had spent 20 years at the company, offered to remain available, and had mentioned Tornare’s name in succession discussions. The account presents a transition that retained Guadalupe’s connection to Hublot rather than a clean break.
The interview does not establish whether Tornare would continue Guadalupe’s ambassador-led brand strategy. It also makes clear that Tornare did not claim credit for the watches being launched at the time: he described them as inherited projects.

The Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic provided an early public event for Tornare, but Sheldrake reports that Tornare said he had not really worked on the watch. The event included Tornare and Djokovic taking part in a reaction drill, according to the interview; that appearance should not be mistaken for a claim that Tornare designed the product.

In its November 20, 2024 announcement, Hublot said the watch’s case material incorporated material from Djokovic’s HEAD rackets and Lacoste polos, and described four strap styles. Hublot specified a limited edition of 100 pieces and said the Paris launch included a discussion between Tornare, in his capacity as CEO, and Djokovic. These are details from Hublot’s release, not independent verification. The release described availability through Hublot online and boutiques at launch; that does not establish present-day stock.
