What was the JKSSB Supervisor recruitment?
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) advertised 201 Supervisor posts in the Social Welfare Department through Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2023, dated 8 December 2023. The notice copy reported that online applications would commence on 15 December 2023. These dates describe the historical recruitment; they are not an invitation to apply now. Is the 2023 recruitment still open, and what is its status?
No application window for this recruitment is open. JKSSB has published later result, document-verification, provisional or final selection, and reserved-post notices associated with the recruitment. Those stages are not interchangeable: a result notice or document-verification call alone does not establish that a candidate has been finally selected, that all document requirements have been met, or that every vacancy has been filled.
The status of each district or item vacancy should be checked against the latest relevant JKSSB result, selection-list and reserved-post notices. The available notices do not establish the disposition of every vacancy as of 7 October 2026. Use the official JKSSB listings and the item-specific selection documents rather than relying on an older summary.

Who was eligible?
In its notice dated 9 July 2024, JKSSB described the advertised eligibility as: “Female Graduate. Preference shall be given to candidates having Home Science, Child Development/Sociology as one of the subjects.” The notice was signed by Reyaz Ahmad Malik, JKAS, Controller of Examinations.
The subject background was relevant to additional selection marks, as explained below. For questions about age, domicile, categories, required documents, reservations or any other detailed condition, the full advertisement is controlling; the short eligibility wording should not be treated as a complete list of requirements. JKSSB’s official FAQ says the relevant advertisement governs eligibility and age limits, and that prescribed qualifications and requisite documents must be acquired or issued by the applicable cutoff date. It also describes subordinate-services merit as merit-cum-preference with stated tie-breakers.

How did the exam and selection marks work?
JKSSB stated that the OMR examination was conducted on 23 June 2024. Its 9 July notice described selection scoring as 95 marks for the objective multiple-choice examination and 5 additional marks for candidates who had Home Science, Child Development or Sociology as a subject.
Some applicants had not selected the relevant subject in the application portal. JKSSB said the portal initially had no option to indicate those subjects, and allowed an offline representation with a graduation marksheet from 10 through 15 July 2024. That submission period has expired; the notice does not provide a currently available remedy.

Where can you find the syllabus and a previous paper?
JKSSB issued a Supervisor, Social Welfare Department syllabus notice on 7 January 2024, in continuation of Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2023. Consult the PDF linked from JKSSB’s official syllabus page for the authoritative topic list; an extracted copy does not provide dependable text for listing the annexure topics here.
JKSSB’s official previous-question-paper page lists “SUPERVISOR (SOCIAL WELFARE) – 2024.” It is an official past paper that may help someone prepare for a future recruitment, but its presence does not mean this 2023 recruitment is open or that JKSSB endorses a commercial guide. Check the Board’s official site for the syllabus and previous-paper pages.

What should candidates check in a result or selection notice?
- Match the notice to Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2023 and the relevant item or vacancy; do not assume a notice covers every post or district.
- Read the notice’s own status and instructions. A result, provisional list, verification call and final selection or recommendation are distinct stages.
- For document verification, follow the specific notice’s required documents, dates and reporting instructions. General eligibility guidance cannot replace the requirements stated for that notice.
- Check later JKSSB notices for amendments, reserved-post updates or revised selection information before treating an older list as current.
