Wolves announced on 7 February 2026 that Jhon Arias had joined Palmeiras in a permanent move. The club did not disclose the fee, and its announcement does not verify the claim that the sale gave Fosun a 50% profit. The publicly available figures are not enough to calculate Wolves’ resale profit.
What Wolves confirmed about Arias’s move
Wolves announced Arias’s permanent departure to Palmeiras on 7 February 2026, saying he was returning to Brazil. He had spent seven months at the club, making 26 appearances and scoring twice. The announcement did not state the transfer fee or mention Fosun or a profit percentage. Wolverhampton Wanderers FC’s announcement is the official confirmation of the destination and move.
How Arias joined Wolves
Wolves announced Arias’s arrival from Fluminense on 24 July 2025. The club said he signed a four-year contract with an option for a further 12 months. Its signing gallery reported that he completed a medical in Paris before signing. Wolves’ signing announcement confirms the signing and contract term.
Fluminense described the move as a permanent transfer and said it retained 10% of Arias’s economic rights in a future sale. That retained interest is distinct from a disclosed resale fee: Fluminense’s statement does not establish what Palmeiras paid Wolves or how proceeds were allocated. Fluminense’s announcement gives its account of the rights arrangement.

What is known about the 2025 fee—and what it cannot prove
Brazilian sports outlet ge.globo reported the 2025 transfer at €22 million in total: €11 million fixed for Fluminense, €5 million in bonuses, and €6 million for Patriotas. The report, updated in December 2025, also said Patriotas accepted less than the 50% share to which it had been entitled. These are reported figures, not a fee breakdown disclosed by Wolves. ge.globo’s report describes the reported division of the original transfer proceeds.
Those figures concern Arias’s move from Fluminense to Wolves, not his later transfer to Palmeiras. They do not establish Wolves’ total acquisition cost for a profit calculation, and the official Wolves departure announcement does not reveal the resale fee. A percentage profit claim would require a defined cost basis and sale proceeds; the available disclosures do not provide the information needed to verify a 50% return for Fosun.

Is the “Fosun 50% profit” headline confirmed?
No. The confirmed fact is Arias’s permanent move from Wolves to Palmeiras, announced on 7 February 2026. The assertion that this sale made Fosun a 50% profit is unverified in the cited official announcements and reported fee coverage. Without a disclosed Palmeiras fee and a clear purchase-cost basis, it should be treated as a claim rather than an established financial result.
