Jake Paul’s reported contracted amount for his June 28, 2025, fight with Julio César Chávez Jr. was $300,000; Chávez Jr.’s was $750,000. MMA Fighting reported that the California State Athletic Commission confirmed those figures. They are disclosed contracted amounts—not verified totals for either fighter’s earnings.
What were Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr. paid?
| Fighter | Reported contracted amount | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Jake Paul | $300,000 | Amount the California State Athletic Commission confirmed to MMA Fighting, as reported June 29, 2025. |
| Julio César Chávez Jr. | $750,000 | Amount the California State Athletic Commission confirmed to MMA Fighting, as reported June 29, 2025. |
MMA Fighting’s report says the amounts were flat contracted figures, without a traditional show-win bonus. Chávez Jr.’s disclosed amount was $450,000 higher than Paul’s, or 2.5 times Paul’s reported contracted amount.
Do these figures show their total earnings?
No. The report says its figures do not include additional bonuses paid through pay-per-view sales. It does not provide a complete accounting of other possible compensation, such as promotional payments or revenue shares. The disclosed contracted amounts therefore should not be treated as either fighter’s final take-home pay or complete gross earnings.
The report does not establish whether any additional payments were made or how much they might have been. No complete all-in compensation figure is stated in the available account.

When and where did the fight take place?
Paul and Chávez Jr. fought on June 28, 2025, at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. MVP’s June 26, 2025, announcement said the event would air globally on DAZN PPV and named Golden Boy Promotions as the official licensed promoter. Paul won by unanimous decision, with judges’ scores of 99–91, 98–92 and 97–93, according to the Associated Press.
The $59.99 PPV price reported before the bout was historical, and MMA Fighting said access also required a DAZN subscription. It was the event’s reported pre-fight price, not a current offer or a measure of either fighter’s compensation. MMA Fighting’s viewing information covered the event before it took place.
