Can you still apply for SDSC SHAR recruitment 2023?
No. Online applications were accepted from 26 April 2023 at 10:00 until 16 May 2023 at 17:00. The ISRO opportunity listing records those dates, and the SDSC SHAR recruitment archive marks the notice closed. Do not use the old advertisement as an active application route.
The official advertisement stated, “Applications will be received on-line only.” That instruction applied to the 2023 window.
Which posts and qualifications did the notice cover?
The recruitment grouped several distinct technical, science, library and trade qualifications. The table summarizes the qualification routes described in the notice; applicants assessing historical eligibility should check the exact post code and the subsequent addendum and corrigendum.

The brief trade-qualification descriptions above are not a substitute for the post-code requirements in the official notices. The advertisement also allowed selected candidates to be posted to any ISRO or Department of Space centre or unit, with all-India transfer liability. The Scientific Assistant Physics vacancy, post code 09, was identified for posting at BRLS, Balasore, Odisha.
What were the pay and age conditions?
These are terms published in the 2023 advertisement, not a current pay quote or current eligibility rule.
- Level 7: Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant and Library Assistant ‘A’ had a pay range of ₹44,900–₹1,42,400. The advertisement gave approximate gross emoluments of ₹63,758 per month at the minimum pay level, plus applicable allowances, as an estimate at the time of the notice.
- Level 3: Technician ‘B’ and Draughtsman ‘B’ had a pay range of ₹21,700–₹69,100. The advertisement gave approximate gross emoluments of ₹30,814 per month at the minimum pay level, plus applicable allowances, as an estimate at the time of the notice.
- Age: The general age band was 18–35 years as of 16 May 2023. Relaxations applied to eligible reserved-category and other candidates under applicable government orders.
How did selection work?
The advertised process had three stages: initial screening, a written test and a qualifying skill test. The written test assessed theoretical and practical understanding of the prescribed curriculum. Its format was 80 multiple-choice questions in 1.5 hours, with +1 mark for a correct answer and −0.33 for an incorrect answer.
The skill test used a qualifying “go-no-go” standard. Among candidates who qualified it, final selection was based on written-test marks and the notified vacancy count.

Why do vacancy figures differ between notices?
The original vacancy table was revised twice, so an initial count should not be treated as the final historical figure. The 15 May 2023 addendum, for example, increased the initially advertised Technical Assistant Mechanical Engineering count from five to six. A corrigendum dated 10 January 2024 made further changes: it records revised totals of five Technical Assistant Mechanical Engineering vacancies, two Scientific Assistant Computer Science vacancies and one Scientific Assistant Physics vacancy, and notes cancellation of the Technical Assistant Electronics & Instrumentation post. Read the relevant post-code entries in the addendum and corrigendum alongside the original advertisement.
