Why fixed-income markets may follow a different holiday schedule
SIFMA recommends a full close on October 12 for specified U.S.-dollar fixed-income trading. Its 2026 schedule covers government securities, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, over-the-counter investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds, municipal bonds, and secondary trading in specified money-market instruments. This is an industry recommendation for the listed markets and instruments, not an NYSE or Nasdaq stock closure.
