The watch itself is real: Porsche Design identifies the Indicator as a 2004 milestone, and auction records document examples of the rare titanium chronograph.
What is the Porsche Design P’6910 Indicator?
The P’6910 Indicator is an automatic titanium chronograph introduced in 2004. Its unusual feature is a mechanical digital display for elapsed chronograph minutes and hours, rather than the conventional subdials used on most chronographs. Porsche Design’s timepiece history identifies the “2004 Indicator” as a milestone. A 2009 article in Porsche’s Christophorus magazine described the watch as comprising 800 parts and costing EUR 110,000 at that time; that is a reported historical price, not a present-day valuation. Read the Christophorus article.
Is it currently listed on James List?
There is no verified live James List or JamesEdition offer in the available evidence. A Pinterest pin repeats the wording “Porsche Design P’6910 Indicator Watch Available On James List,” but a pin does not establish that an item is still for sale. Without a live item page, there is no confirmed seller, asking price, listing status or condition to report.
If you find a listing, check that the page is live and contact the seller through the marketplace to confirm the watch is still available. Treat old search results, saved pins and cached descriptions as leads—not proof of current inventory.

What makes the watch unusual?
The P’6910 combines a large titanium case with an automatic chronograph movement and mechanical digital elapsed-time counters. Dorotheum identifies the movement as Eterna calibre 6036 and describes a black dial, small seconds and power-reserve indicator. Christie’s likewise describes a mechanical digital minute-and-hour display and a 48 mm titanium case. A specialist dealer gives the case size as 49 mm, while Dorotheum reports approximately 50 mm; these sources do not establish one definitive measurement. Dorotheum’s sale record and Christie’s record document the watch’s features.
How rare is the P’6910?
It is clearly scarce, but the exact production total is unresolved in the cited records. Christie’s says production was limited to 50 watches and reports two to four examples made per year. Dorotheum, however, catalogued an example numbered 71. The sources do not reconcile that discrepancy, so a 50-piece total should not be treated as settled fact.

What do past prices tell you?
Past prices provide context, not a current market quote. Dorotheum recorded a 2019 result of EUR 24,050, including buyer charges and VAT, for its No. 71 example. Christie’s also records a past offering, but neither auction record establishes today’s value or what a private seller should ask. The EUR 110,000 figure in the 2009 Christophorus article is likewise a historical launch-era price, not a current resale estimate.

A rare watch should be evaluated as a specific object, not just by its model name. Before paying or placing a deposit, request documentation and photographs that let you assess identity, condition and completeness.

- Reference and numbering: Ask for clear images of the case markings and serial or individual number, and compare them with the papers and sale records. The No. 71 example documented by Dorotheum makes it especially important not to assume that every production-number claim is consistent.
- Condition and service: Request a recent service history, details of repairs or replaced parts, and close photographs of the movement, dial, case, crown, clasp and strap. For a complicated mechanical chronograph, an independent inspection by a qualified watchmaker can help identify operational or originality concerns.
- Completeness and provenance: Confirm what is included—such as box, papers and service documentation—and ask for a traceable ownership history. Verify that the documents correspond to the actual watch.
- Price evidence: Compare documented sales of genuinely comparable examples, accounting for condition, completeness, sale date and whether the quoted result includes buyer charges and taxes. A historic auction result is not a guaranteed resale value.
- Seller and transaction: Verify the seller’s identity, return terms and payment protections independently. A marketplace page alone does not certify authenticity or guarantee that the watch is available.
Christie’s and Dorotheum provide useful historical records for comparison, but they do not authenticate or appraise a watch currently offered by a different seller.
