There is no verified evidence, as of October 13, 2026, that Sarfraz Maredia is leaving Uber on November 16. Uber’s leadership information still identifies him as the company’s global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery, and a September 23, 2026 report from Axios described him in the same role.
The November 16 claim may be confused with a separate event: Maredia stepped down from the board of Serve Robotics in June 2026. That was an outside board departure, not an announcement that he was leaving Uber.

What is confirmed about Maredia’s Uber role
Uber’s leadership biography lists Maredia as global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery. The biography says he joined Uber as a general manager in 2014 and gives him responsibility for several parts of the company’s autonomous business:

Uber’s April 2026 announcement about its autonomous-solutions initiative also identified Maredia with that title. Those company materials do not announce a November 16 departure.

Why the “12+ years” figure is plausible but does not prove an exit
Maredia joined Uber in 2014, according to the company’s biography. In a LinkedIn post announcing his move into the autonomous mobility and delivery role, he wrote that he had been at Uber for “almost 11 years.” By October 2026, that employment history would amount to more than 12 years if he remained with the company.
That duration supports the tenure part of the claim, but it does not establish that his employment ends on November 16. No independently sourced announcement naming that date was identified.

Maredia’s own description of the role
When announcing the position, Maredia wrote: “Excited to share that I’ve stepped into a new role as the global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery at Uber.” He also wrote that friends and colleagues sometimes asked why he was still at Uber after “almost 11 years.” The post describes his role and tenure at that time; it is not a notice of departure.
What the September 2026 reporting says
An Axios report published September 23, 2026, still referred to Maredia as Uber’s head of autonomous mobility and delivery. That is the most recent dated independent reference identified in the available material and is consistent with Uber’s leadership page.

Executive assignments can change quickly, so a later announcement could alter the situation. However, the records available on October 13 do not corroborate either the November 16 date or the description of Maredia as the latest person to leave Uber’s autonomous unit.
The separate Serve Robotics board departure
Serve Robotics announced on June 24, 2026, that Maredia was stepping down from its board after three years. Board service at another company is distinct from employment at Uber.

- Uber: Maredia is listed as global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery in the latest company information cited here.
- Serve Robotics: His board role ended in June 2026.
Conflating those two positions creates the appearance of an Uber resignation that the cited announcements do not support.

If Uber or Maredia later confirms a departure, readers should check three details before treating the report as established:

- 24/7 safe pickups
- Order from hundreds of local restaurants

- Ratings ensure premium quality
- Track delivery
- The employer and position: Verify that the announcement concerns his Uber employment, rather than an outside board or advisory role.
- The effective date: Compare the stated date with Uber’s leadership page and the wording of any company or personal announcement.
- The scope of the claim: A single executive change does not by itself establish a broader “latest exit” trend in Uber’s autonomous unit.
Bottom line on the November 16 claim
As of October 13, 2026, the available evidence supports that Maredia has spent more than 12 years at Uber and remains identified as its autonomous mobility and delivery chief. It does not verify that he is leaving on November 16. The confirmed 2026 departure involved his board seat at Serve Robotics, not his Uber job.
