No: the latest official information does not support the claim that Paramount Television Studios is shutting down. In an August 4, 2026 shareholder letter, Paramount Skydance Corporation said the studio was producing shows for Paramount+ and third parties. A Paramount announcement on October 1 also identified the renewed series Neagley as a Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios production.
What Paramount has said about the studio
Paramount Skydance Corporation’s August 4, 2026 shareholder letter described Paramount Television Studios as producing shows for the company’s networks and outside buyers. The letter said the studio had 20 active titles for Paramount+, naming Dexter: Resurrection, Tulsa King and its spinoff Frisco King. Read the shareholder letter filed with the SEC.
The letter also forecast that Paramount’s TV studios would produce more than 90 series and over 800 episodes in 2026. That is a company forecast, not a verified final count. It refers to Paramount’s TV studios collectively, so it should not be read as an output figure for Paramount Television Studios alone.
A later production update
On October 1, 2026, Paramount’s studio newsroom announced the renewal of Neagley and identified it as a production of Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios. This is a recent official indication of continuing production activity and a studio relationship; it does not, by itself, establish the status of every project or department. Why the shutdown wording may be confusing
The phrase “Paramount is shutting down its TV studio” may refer to an earlier report or event, but the available official updates do not establish the exact origin or consequences of that wording. They also do not support treating a past shutdown claim as a description of the studio’s status in October 2026.
Paramount disclosed broader restructuring and a company-wide workforce reduction in 2025. Its November shareholder letter put the number of employees affected at approximately 1,000, but that figure was not specific to Paramount Television Studios and does not establish that the studio was closing. Read the November 2025 shareholder letter.

For viewers, the current evidence points to Paramount Television Studios continuing to develop and produce work, including for partners outside Paramount. It does not guarantee that any particular show will be renewed, released on a given date, or unaffected by corporate changes.

For anyone following Paramount as a business, distinguish between company-wide restructuring and a studio-specific closure. The 2025 workforce figure describes a broad corporate reduction; the 2026 shareholder letter and October production announcement describe current studio activity. Those sources address different questions and should not be treated as interchangeable.
