Yes—but Walmart+ did not give members both Paramount+ and Peacock at the same time. Beginning September 15, 2025, eligible Walmart+ members could choose one ad-supported streaming benefit: Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium. The selected service was included at no additional charge with Walmart+, but Walmart+ itself normally costs money.
The widely advertised $49 annual Walmart+ Black Friday deal ended December 2, 2025. It is not the current standard price. As of August 10, 2026, Walmart still lists the streaming-choice benefit for active Walmart+ members, with standard membership pricing of $12.95 per month or $98 per year, plus applicable tax. Qualifying students and government-assistance recipients may be eligible for separate discounted Walmart+ plans.

Walmart announced the expanded streaming benefit on September 1, 2025, and made the new choice available beginning September 15, 2025. Paramount+ had already been Walmart+’s streaming partner; Peacock was added as the alternative choice. Walmart’s announcement described the services as available at no additional cost to Walmart+ members.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
The benefit works as a choice, not as two separate subscription credits:
- Choose Paramount+ Essential, or
- Choose Peacock Premium.
After choosing, you keep that service as long as your Walmart+ membership remains eligible. Walmart does not automatically rotate you between the services, and you do not have to switch after 90 days. The 90-day rule is the earliest point at which you may become eligible to change your selection.
What “free” means—and what it does not mean
The streaming benefit has no separate charge, but it is tied to Walmart+. That means:
- You need an eligible Walmart+ trial or paid membership.
- You do not receive a standalone, permanently free Paramount+ or Peacock subscription by visiting either provider’s website.
- The included plan is the ad-supported tier.
- Walmart+ membership charges, taxes, renewals, and any optional streaming upgrade are separate considerations.
“Free Paramount+” also does not mean Paramount+ Premium, SHOWTIME, or every Premium feature. Likewise, “free Peacock” means the ad-supported Peacock Premium tier, not Peacock Premium Plus.
What is not included
- Both services simultaneously: Walmart’s help documentation says members can have only one streaming benefit at a time.
- Ad-free viewing: the included Paramount+ Essential and Peacock Premium plans include advertising.
- Paramount+ Premium features: Essential does not provide the full Premium feature set, including the same local CBS access, downloads, 4K/HDR support, ad-free on-demand viewing, and SHOWTIME content associated with Premium. Check Paramount+’s current plan page for the latest differences.
- Peacock Premium Plus: Premium Plus is a paid upgrade rather than the included Walmart+ tier.
Paramount+ Essential vs. Peacock Premium
| Feature | Paramount+ Essential | Peacock Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Included with Walmart+ | Yes, as the selected benefit | Yes, as the selected benefit |
| Advertising | Ad-supported | Ad-supported |
| Best fit for | Paramount originals and franchises, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, CBS-related programming, and selected sports | NBC and Bravo programming, Peacock originals, Universal films, reality programming, live events, sports, and Telemundo or other Spanish-language content |
| Ad-free option | Paid Paramount+ Premium upgrade may be available to paid Walmart+ members | Paid Peacock Premium Plus upgrade may be available to paid Walmart+ members |
| Can you receive it alongside the other included service? | No | No |
Walmart and the providers can change catalogs, plan features, and sports rights. Treat specific shows, events, and local-network availability as time-sensitive rather than permanent features.
When Paramount+ may be the better choice
Choose Paramount+ if you mainly want Paramount franchises and originals, CBS-related programming, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, or BET content. Depending on current rights and plan availability, Paramount+ Essential may also include access to selected sports such as UEFA Champions League and NFL-on-CBS programming. Verify the current plan details before relying on a particular event or local broadcast.
When Peacock may be the better choice
Choose Peacock if your priority is NBC or Bravo programming, Peacock originals, Universal films, reality shows, live sports and events, or Spanish-language programming from Telemundo and related networks. Walmart highlighted these categories when it announced Peacock as the new choice in 2025.

Because switching is limited to once every 90 days, the practical strategy is to select the service that has the most content you want to watch over the next three months—not the service you might want for a single weekend.

How to activate the Walmart+ streaming benefit
Use Walmart’s account benefits area rather than beginning at the standalone Paramount+ or Peacock signup page.
- Sign in to the Walmart account connected to the active Walmart+ membership.
- Open Account.
- Select Walmart+.
- Open Benefits Hub or find the Video Streaming Choice tile.
- Choose Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium.
- Select Get Paramount+ or Get Peacock.
- Sign in to an eligible existing streaming account or create a new account.
- Complete the account-linking prompts.
- Open the Paramount+ or Peacock app or website and sign in with the linked account.
Walmart notes that the tile may show the name of your current streaming subscription rather than the words “Video Streaming Choice.” The current Walmart streaming-benefits instructions are the best reference if the labels change.
What if you already pay for Paramount+ or Peacock?
You generally cannot stack an active direct-paid subscription with the Walmart+ benefit. Walmart says an existing paid Paramount+ or Peacock subscription must first be canceled and allowed to fully expire. After the final paid access period ends, activate the benefit through Walmart and link the account.
Avoid these common mistakes:
- Do not uninstall the app and assume billing has stopped. Subscription cancellation must be completed with the company or billing platform that charges you.
- Check an annual subscription’s end date before canceling. Canceling renewal may leave access active until the paid term ends, but the timing depends on the subscription terms.
- Do not activate too early. Walmart’s benefit may not work while the existing paid subscription remains active.
- Do not expect Walmart to credit unused time from an existing Paramount+ or Peacock subscription.
- Keep your existing login information. After expiration, you may be able to link that account through Walmart rather than creating another one.
How to switch from Paramount+ to Peacock—or back
You may switch the selected service once every 90 days. The period is not an automatic rotation: if you want to keep your current service, take no action.
- Sign in to Walmart.
- Go to Account → Walmart+.
- Select See all your Walmart+ Benefits.
- On the Video Streaming Choice tile, select Manage plan.
- Confirm that the account is eligible to switch.
- Select the other streaming service.
- Confirm the change.
- Link or create the appropriate Paramount+ or Peacock account.
Switching does not let you maintain both included services. It also may have billing consequences if you purchased an upgrade for the service you are leaving.
Can you upgrade to an ad-free plan?
Yes, but the upgrade is not free and requires a paid Walmart+ membership. Trial members can use the included ad-supported benefit but cannot purchase the ad-free upgrade until they become paid members.
Walmart’s help page listed the following upgrade prices as of August 10, 2026:

Upgrade rules to know before paying
- You must first enroll in the applicable included service.
- The upgrade is tied to the service you selected.
- If you switch services while upgraded, Walmart says the upgrade is terminated immediately.
- Walmart’s help information indicates that leaving an upgraded service may result in a prorated refund for the canceled portion.
- Downgrading generally does not produce a refund; access continues through the current upgrade billing cycle.
For that reason, do not purchase an annual upgrade immediately before switching. Compare the remaining time, the upgrade price, and the service’s cancellation terms first.
The $49 Walmart+ Black Friday deal is expired
The 2025 holiday promotion reduced the annual Walmart+ price from the regular $98 to $49. GameSpot and Tom’s Guide reported that the offer ran through December 2, 2025. That was a limited promotional price, not a permanent Walmart+ rate, and it should not be presented as available in 2026.
Eligibility descriptions varied. Some coverage described the offer as being for new members, while other coverage included returning or expired members. Walmart promotions can also be account-specific. The safest conclusion is that the offer was real but limited by its published deadline and account terms.

Walmart’s membership help page lists standard pricing, while its Walmart Assist page explains eligibility for discounted plans. Neither should be confused with a still-active universal Black Friday offer.
Does Walmart+ have a free trial?
Walmart currently advertises a 30-day Walmart+ trial. Trial members can use the included ad-supported streaming choice. However, the paid ad-free upgrades require a paid Walmart+ membership.
A trial is not automatically a free year. Walmart’s terms generally provide that promotional or trial memberships renew into a paid monthly or annual membership unless canceled. A valid payment method is required. Canceling during a trial may end trial benefits immediately, so check the account’s displayed end date before canceling.
If you start a trial only for streaming, set a reminder before the renewal date and confirm whether cancellation ends access immediately. The exact renewal and cancellation terms are in Walmart’s Terms of Use.

The streaming choice depends on an active Walmart+ membership. For a paid membership, Walmart’s terms generally allow benefits to continue through the end of the already-paid membership term after cancellation. A trial cancellation can be different and may end benefits immediately.

The streaming-benefit tile is missing
Check the following in order:
- You are signed in to the Walmart account that owns the Walmart+ membership.
- The membership is active rather than expired, paused, or otherwise ineligible.
- You are looking under Account → Walmart+ → Benefits.
- You have not already selected the other service.
- Your 90-day switching period has ended if you are trying to change services.
If the tile remains missing, contact Walmart account support first for membership eligibility. After activation, contact Paramount+ or Peacock for problems with the linked streaming account.
Activation sends you to a payment page
Possible explanations include:
- You opened the standalone Paramount+ or Peacock signup flow instead of Walmart’s Benefits Hub.
- An existing paid subscription is still active and must expire first.
- You selected an ad-free upgrade instead of the included tier.
- You are in a Walmart+ trial and attempted to purchase an upgrade, which requires paid membership.
Return to the Walmart account’s benefits area and begin the included activation there.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
You are still seeing ads
That is expected. Paramount+ Essential and Peacock Premium are the ad-supported included tiers. A paid upgrade is required for the applicable ad-free option, and the upgrade is only available to eligible paid Walmart+ members.
Who can use the benefit?
This is principally a U.S. Walmart+ benefit. Walmart’s terms require a U.S. billing address. Availability in Puerto Rico depends on the streaming providers’ requirements, and Walmart+ benefits may be limited in Alaska and Hawaii.
Streaming catalogs, sports rights, provider prices, upgrade prices, and trial terms can change. Date-check any price or content claim before making a subscription decision. For example, Peacock recorded a price change effective July 23, 2025, while Paramount+’s current signup page differs from some 2025 pricing.
Bottom-line buying decision
If you already want Walmart+ for delivery, fuel savings, shopping benefits, or other membership features, the included streaming choice can add meaningful value. Pick Paramount+ Essential for Paramount, CBS-related, and associated franchise content; pick Peacock Premium for NBC, Bravo, Universal, live sports, reality, and Spanish-language programming.
If you want Walmart+ only for streaming, calculate the membership cost rather than calling the service free. The 2025 $49 annual promotion is gone, the standard annual price is currently $98 plus tax, and only one ad-supported service is included at a time. The benefit remains useful, but it is a membership perk—not two free standalone subscriptions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get both Paramount+ and Peacock through Walmart+?
No. Walmart+ includes only one of the two streaming benefits at a time. You can select Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium and may switch once every 90 days, but the benefit does not provide both concurrently.
Is the Walmart+ Paramount+ or Peacock benefit ad-free?
No. The included Paramount+ Essential and Peacock Premium plans are ad-supported. Paramount+ Premium and Peacock Premium Plus are paid upgrades for eligible paid Walmart+ members.
Can I use my existing Paramount+ or Peacock account?
Usually, yes, but Walmart says an existing paid subscription must first be canceled and allowed to fully expire. Then activate the benefit through Account → Walmart+ → Benefits and link the account.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCan I switch between Paramount+ and Peacock every month?
No. Walmart permits switching once every 90 days. The 90-day period is an eligibility window, not an automatic switch, so you can remain with your current service indefinitely while your Walmart+ membership stays active.
Is the $49 Walmart+ annual deal still available?
No. The $49 annual price was a limited 2025 holiday promotion reported through December 2, 2025. As of August 10, 2026, Walmart lists standard pricing of $12.95 per month or $98 per year, plus applicable tax. Eligible Assist or student members may have separate discounted pricing.
Can I use the streaming benefit during a Walmart+ trial?
Yes. Trial members can use the included ad-supported streaming benefit. Paid Walmart+ membership is required to purchase the Paramount+ Premium or Peacock Premium Plus upgrade, and the trial may renew into a paid membership unless canceled.
What happens to the streaming benefit if I cancel Walmart+?
For a paid membership, benefits generally continue until the end of the paid term. Trial cancellation may end benefits immediately. Check the Walmart account’s displayed end date and cancel before renewal to avoid another charge.
Does the Walmart+ benefit include SHOWTIME or Paramount+ Premium?
No. The included Paramount tier is Paramount+ Essential, not Paramount+ Premium or a free SHOWTIME subscription. Premium features require a separate paid upgrade when available.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The Walmart+ promotion was real, but it offered a choice of one ad-supported service—not both Paramount+ and Peacock. The $49 annual Walmart+ holiday price expired on December 2, 2025. As of August 10, 2026, the streaming benefit remains available with an active Walmart+ membership, which Walmart lists at $12.95 monthly or $98 annually plus tax at standard rates.
