Sometimes, but not as a single, open-to-everyone franchise program. Lush says there are no franchise or wholesale opportunities in North America. For selected international markets, it invites proposals for licensed partnerships. Lush has also reported franchises among its historical group-wide operating structures, but that does not mean every Lush shop is franchised or that applications are open everywhere.
Can I open a Lush store?
It depends on the country. Lush’s international business-opportunities page describes expansion through licensed partnerships and asks interested parties to submit a structured five-year vision plan. The plan should explain the country, the stores proposed and the investment. Lush says it is especially looking for partners in Mexico, Greece and the Baltic countries. This is a selective, proposal-based route, not confirmation that Lush is accepting applications in every country or offering a standard franchise package. The page uses the term “licensed partnerships”; it does not establish that those arrangements have the same legal terms as a franchise.
Does Lush franchise in the US or North America?
No franchise or wholesale opportunities are available in North America, according to Lush North America’s FAQ. The company states: “Lush is a privately owned and operated company within North America and there are no opportunities for franchise or wholesale.” The FAQ directs people outside North America to international enquiries. What does Lush mean by a franchise or partner shop?
Lush’s audited accounts for the year ending June 2023 describe the group’s operations as including subsidiaries, associates, licensees and franchises. That establishes that franchises have been part of the group’s operating mix; it does not identify the legal structure of each current shop or prove that franchise opportunities are currently open. Keep the company’s terms distinct: “franchise,” “licensed partnership” and “Partner shop” are not necessarily interchangeable. Lush’s FY2024/25 statement counts both Group and Partner shops, but does not classify every shop as a franchise. It reported 869 shops worldwide, including Group and Partner shops, at the end of FY25, and a presence in 53 countries. - Country eligibility: Confirm directly with Lush whether it is considering proposals for your country; the international page identifies selected priority markets rather than promising openings everywhere.
- Legal structure: Ask whether the opportunity is a franchise, a license or another partnership, and request the relevant agreement and disclosure information for your jurisdiction.
- Financial terms: Obtain written details about investment, fees, operating obligations and any other financial requirements. The public opportunities page asks for investment information in a proposal but does not publish a standard fee schedule.
- Store plan: Prepare the five-year vision plan Lush requests, covering the country and proposed stores, and make any assumptions about costs explicit until Lush confirms them.
