Does John Textor still own Crystal Palace?
No. On July 24, 2025, the Premier League said its Board had approved Woody Johnson’s acquisition of a 42.92% Crystal Palace stake after the Owners’ and Directors’ Test; an Independent Oversight Panel ratified the purchase. The League’s statement gives the approved stake as 42.92%.
BBC Sport reported the same day that Palace confirmed Johnson had completed the purchase of Textor’s Eagle Football shareholding. Why is Textor associated with a football-club sale?
In a statement dated August 22, 2024, Textor said Eagle Football was interested in selling its Palace interest, largely to pursue a relationship with Everton. He described the firm as evaluating alternatives and said he had not acquired a majority interest in Palace. That was historical context, before the 2025 sale; it was about Palace and Everton, not Watford. Read Textor’s statement.
