Haier is growing in Europe, but the available evidence does not establish it as the overall leader across the region’s appliance market. Its innovations and sustainability figures are worth examining—but they are company-reported, and buyers should compare specific models and local costs before deciding what those claims mean for them.
Is Haier a leading appliance brand in Europe?
The most precise answer is: Haier reports a strong European position, particularly in washing machines, but the cited figures do not prove overall leadership across all appliance categories. Haier Smart Home’s 2025 annual report says European-market revenue grew by double digits in 2025 and that its washing-machine business reached the region’s No. 2 market-share position. These are company-reported results, not an independently established ranking of every appliance category.
The report also describes a shift toward higher-quality growth, supply-chain changes, expansion of Amazon-led e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels, and the establishment or upgrading of hundreds of retail outlets. It identifies a coordinated launch of triple-drum washing machines as a notable innovation and says refrigerator momentum continued.
Haier Europe’s January 2026 release cites Euromonitor International’s 2025 volume-sales data to call Haier the world’s No. 1 major-appliance brand, with global category rankings that include refrigerators, washing machines, wine coolers and freezers. That is a global ranking cited by the company—not evidence that Haier leads Europe overall. Haier Europe is part of Haier Smart Home, whose European portfolio and reporting also encompass Candy and Hoover; a claim about Haier-branded products should not automatically be applied to those other brands.

What makes Haier washing machines innovative?
Multi-drum designs
Haier Smart Home’s 2025 annual report highlights triple-drum washing machines as a notable European launch and says product innovation contributed to the washing-machine business’s regional market position. A separate Haier Europe release from January 2026 describes multi-drum development as a response to user feedback and localized requirements. These statements explain the company’s rationale; they do not, by themselves, establish that a multi-drum model is more effective or economical than a conventional washer for a particular household.
Connected features and guidance
Haier Europe’s 2025 sustainability release describes a water-softening system in its X Series 11 washing machine and says the hOn app provides consumption monitoring, personalized guidance and maintenance alerts. It also describes connected refrigeration features such as Proactive Temperature and Smart Food Locator, connected A++ ovens with no-preheat and multi-level cooking features, and dishwashing programmes that respond to load size.

Haier Europe says all Haier-branded washing machines offered on its market are rated A Class. That is a company statement about its market offering, not a worldwide claim about every model ever sold or about Haier’s other appliance categories. Energy labels and product availability vary by country, so check the exact model’s label and local listing.

For a household budget, an energy class alone does not reveal a washer’s lifetime cost. Compare the exact model’s energy and water use, capacity, purchase price, dimensions and noise level, as well as warranty and access to local repairs or service. Actual costs and environmental impacts also depend on how the appliance is used, local electricity, installation, durability and product lifecycle factors.
What sustainability progress and targets has Haier Europe reported?
Haier Europe says its sustainability report covers 1 January through 31 December 2025 and was prepared with reference to European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), supporting compliance with applicable CSRD requirements. The performance figures below come from Haier Europe’s own 2026 corporate release summarizing that report; they should be read as company-reported results, not independent verification.

Haier Europe reports targets to cut Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50% and emissions from the use of sold products by 42% by 2030, each against a 2021 baseline. It also states an ambition of operational carbon neutrality by 2050. These targets cover different emissions sources: reductions in company operations are not the same as reductions in emissions associated with customers using products.
A prior company release described a goal of sourcing 60% of energy from renewables by 2025, alongside 45% renewable energy use in 2024 and 98% waste recovery at production sites. The later report’s figure is specifically renewable electricity—more than 80% of electricity use in 2025—so it should not be treated as the same measure as broader energy sourcing.

For a purchase decision, use the company’s market and sustainability announcements as context, then assess the product and the costs that apply to your household. The reported regional ranking does not establish that every Haier washer is the best value, and a sustainability metric for Haier Europe does not by itself show how one product compares with a competitor.
- Compare the exact model’s energy label, capacity, water use, noise, dimensions and cycle options.
- Check the current price, warranty terms, repair options and service access in your country.
- Confirm which connected features are supported for that model and available locally.
- When comparing company sustainability claims, check the reporting boundaries, baseline year, operational versus product-use emissions, and whether the figures have independent assurance.
Haier’s global ranking release cites Euromonitor International’s Consumer Appliances 2026 Edition and 2025 volume-sales data; the underlying proprietary dataset was not separately reviewed in the cited material. Haier Europe’s sustainability results likewise come from its own release summarizing its report. Those attribution limits matter when using corporate announcements to compare brands.
