Adam Boyes announced on August 15, 2024, that he planned to leave Iron Galaxy at the end of that year, after eight years with the studio. In a post titled “My Next Adventure”, published on Iron Galaxy’s website on August 15, 2024, Boyes said he would leave the studio at the end of the year. He described his tenure as eight years, placing his start at Iron Galaxy in 2016. Game Developer reported on the announcement the following day.
The announcement described a gradual transition rather than an immediate exit. The available statements establish the intended year-end departure, but do not independently confirm the date on which it was completed.

In that 2020 announcement, the studio described Boyes as focusing on publisher relationships and new business opportunities. Blasko’s remit included day-to-day operations, hiring, company culture, and the game portfolio. That division of responsibilities helps explain the studio’s plan for Blasko to become sole CEO after Boyes’s transition; it describes their roles at the time, not necessarily their duties in 2024.
What Boyes said about leaving and what comes next
Boyes did not give a specific reason for leaving beyond describing a new source of inspiration. He wrote, “My new inspirations are to find ways to help people who make games solve their biggest problems.” He also characterized the industry as suffering. He did not identify a particular position, company, project, or venture, so his next step was not specified in the announcement.

Boyes thanked Blasko and said Iron Galaxy was “in the best possible hands” with her as sole CEO. The statement reflects his confidence in the leadership transition, not a separate announcement about a new business or role.
