The Argon SpaceOne pairs a spacecraft-inspired case with a mechanical jumping-hour display: its hour disc snaps forward once each hour while the minute and seconds discs keep moving. The watch was introduced through a four-week Kickstarter campaign in 2023; that campaign is historical, and the original models listed on SpaceOne’s current collection page are marked sold out.
How the SpaceOne’s jumping hour works
Rather than a conventional dial with hands, the SpaceOne uses three concentric discs to show the time. The seconds appear at the center, the hours on the middle disc, and the minutes around the outer edge. The seconds and minutes progress continuously; the hour display makes a discrete jump at the change of each hour.
That jump is created by an added nine-part module developed by independent watchmaker Théo Auffret for the Soprod P024 base movement, according to Monochrome’s 11 May 2023 launch report and SpaceOne’s brand description. The result is a distinctive way to read the time, not simply a standard watch movement placed in an unusual case.
Why it looks like a spacecraft
The case’s curved sapphire viewing area and side display give the SpaceOne its cockpit-like appearance. Monochrome’s launch account also describes a lateral crown and a titanium caseback with a see-through window. SpaceOne says the design takes inspiration from space-age forms.

The project brought together two different watchmaking backgrounds: Auffret, an independent watchmaker, and watch entrepreneur Guillaume Laidet. Both the launch report and the brand identify them as collaborators behind the watch.

The case is 42 mm across and 51.67 mm from lug to lug. Those figures describe a broad case with a shorter-than-width lug-to-lug measurement, but they do not establish how it will fit a particular wrist. A try-on is the reliable way to judge fit.

What to check before buying one
- Confirm the exact variant. The original range included steel, titanium, and forged carbon, with differences in finish and reported edition limits.
- Check fit using the dimensions. The published case is 42 × 51.67 mm and 12.6 mm thick; wrist fit cannot be inferred from those numbers alone.
- Read the water-resistance specification carefully. The current official figure is 3 ATM, while the 2023 launch article said 50 m. The published claims do not match, so avoid assuming the higher historical figure is the current rating.
- Verify condition and terms for a resale purchase. The campaign price and estimated delivery date describe the original 2023 offer, not a resale value, warranty, or present-day seller commitment.
