DexMex Explained: The 2021 Uniswap-Based Leveraged Trading Proposal

DexMex announced a Uniswap-associated peer-to-peer leveraged trading concept in 2021. Its mechanics, token figures, and fees remain historical project claims; current operation is unconfirmed.

DexMex was announced in February 2021 as a proposed decentralized platform for peer-to-peer leveraged long and short positions in ERC-20 tokens, built around Uniswap. Its creator said traders’ opposing positions would balance one another rather than relying on a separate lender or liquidity provider. That is the project’s description—not evidence that the exchange worked as claimed or is available today.

What was DexMex?

In a February 6, 2021 post, the project’s official Medium account called DexMex “the first decentralized exchange based on uniswap to offer peer to peer leverage trading.” The announcement proposed letting users take leveraged long or short positions in ERC-20 tokens. The claim of being first was the project’s own promotional description, not an independently established ranking.

The project framed DexMex as a way to combine peer-to-peer trading with leverage. Its post said users could access the platform through a web wallet and linked to a presale page. A project whitepaper excerpt says MetaMask was required, but the document is not available here for fuller review; neither reference establishes that the website or wallet connection currently works.

How did DexMex say leveraged positions would work?

According to the announcement, traders taking opposite sides would provide the economic counterbalance. The post described value moving from losing positions to winning ones. It also said the ratio of short to long interest would be used to adjust leverage when users withdrew holdings or gains.

On that account, a position did not require borrowing the underlying token, and the design did not call for separate liquidity providers. These are descriptions of a proposed mechanism, not independently verified operating details. The available materials do not establish how collateral, liquidation thresholds, settlement, or other risk controls would work in practice.

What token economics and fees did the project announce?

DexMex’s February 2021 post made the following claims about DEXM and platform charges. They are historical announcement figures, not verified current terms:

Item What the project stated in February 2021
Token supply Total supply of 50,000,000 DEXM and circulating supply of 37,500,000 DEXM
Staker allocation 0.4% of platform volume would go to DEXM stakers in ETH
Buybacks and burns 0.2% would be used for token buybacks and burns
Position entry fee 0.8% to enter a long or short position; the post said there would be no further holding fee
Treasury and governance A community-governed treasury funded with 0.2%, with governance based on the token

The post does not establish whether these allocations, supply figures, rewards, governance arrangements, or fee terms were implemented or remain in effect. It also included monthly market-volume figures without naming a data publisher or methodology, so those figures should not be treated as independently verified market statistics.

  • BUILT FOR YOUR MARKET, FUTURES, STOCKS, FOREX, OPTIONS & CRYPTO: 4X is a mindset and process journal, not a strategy tool tied to one instrument. • THE 2026 EDITION, REBUILT FROM TRADER FEEDBACK: Same trusted system, better in every way. An extra daily page for more room to log the session. Weekly reviews now grouped with each week's trades, so no more flipping back and forth. Crisp, darker print that's easy on the eyes after hours on a screen. A Quick-Start QR that scans straight to step-by-step instructions.
  • NOT A NOTEBOOK, A COMPLETE 12-WEEK SYSTEM: Start with a one-time 9-part Trading Plan (your market, setups, risk rules and discipline checklist). Is DexMex still operating, and can DEXM be traded?

The available third-party listings do not confirm that DexMex currently operates. CoinDesk lists a DEXM launch date of February 4, 2021, but does not verify present exchange functionality. CoinDesk’s DEXM page is a token listing, not evidence of a live service.

CoinCarp’s DexMex page identifies a token contract address but has incomplete market fields and conflicting availability language: it names a possible exchange while also saying its tracking suggests DEXM is not available for purchase on an exchange. A search-result snapshot for ApeSpace’s DEXM market page displayed a DEXM/WETH pair, a low-liquidity warning, and market information dated September 12, 2026. That dated third-party snapshot is not a current quote and does not establish that a trade can be completed reliably.

Before relying on any token or platform listing, a reader would need fresh, authoritative confirmation of the service’s availability and the relevant market’s liquidity. The available sources do not establish current supported assets, fees, geographic eligibility, contract audit status, or a verified affiliate program.

What should a reader conclude?

DexMex is best understood as a 2021 proposal for peer-to-peer leveraged ERC-20 trading associated with Uniswap, accompanied by announced token economics and fees. The project’s own description explains its intended approach, but the available listings do not establish that the product operates now or that DEXM is safely or reliably tradable. Treat the announced mechanics and figures as historical claims unless current, authoritative documentation confirms otherwise.
