The $22.5 million figure attached to Sylvester Stallone’s Hidden Hills estate was its December 2022 asking price—not what it ultimately sold for. Reports put the 2023 sale to musician John Fogerty at $17.2 million. The property was described as a gated, equestrian-oriented compound with a main house, guesthouse, riding arena and extensive outdoor amenities.

What the $22.5 million figure means

The Los Angeles Times reported that Stallone listed the Hidden Hills property for $22.5 million in December 2022. It later sold to musician John Fogerty for a reported $17.2 million in 2023, according to realestate.com.au and Mansion Global. The asking price and sale price describe different stages of the transaction; the former should not be mistaken for the latter.

Mansion Global reported that Stallone bought the property in February 2022 for $18.15 million. Some contemporary coverage rounded that amount to $18.2 million. These figures are reported transaction prices; the available coverage does not provide deed or assessor records to independently verify them.

A gated compound on more than two acres

The estate sat at the end of a cul-de-sac in Hidden Hills, California. The Los Angeles Times described it as a gated property on more than two acres, while listing-based reports put the lot at approximately 2.26 acres. The acreage figures are source-attributed and rounded differently.

Rather than one large residence alone, the property was described as a compound: a main house and guesthouse set among landscaped grounds and outdoor amenities. The Los Angeles Times put the two buildings together at nearly 10,500 square feet. Other listing-based coverage reported 10,460 square feet, so the precise total depends on how the covered structures were counted.

Inside the main house and guesthouse

The Los Angeles Times described the home as built in 2015 and later updated, with four bedrooms and eight bathrooms across the main residence and guesthouse. Other accounts described a two-story entry, a theater, a gym and a chef’s kitchen. Those details come from property and listing coverage rather than a firsthand inspection.

Published accounts conflict on the construction year, with some reporting 2014 and others 2015. Without a property record, neither year can be treated as definitive.

Equestrian facilities and outdoor features

The estate was marketed and reported as an equestrian property, with facilities that set it apart from a conventional luxury home:

  • A four-stall barn and tack room.
  • A private riding arena.
  • A swimming pool, spa and cabana or pool house.
  • Landscaped grounds surrounding the residences and recreation areas.

TMZ’s account also listed a koi pond, vegetable garden, and more than 100 citrus and avocado trees. Those specific garden details are attributable to that outlet’s report, not independently verified property records.

How the property moved through Stallone’s portfolio

Reported transaction coverage describes a brief period of ownership: Stallone bought the home in February 2022, listed it later that year, and sold it in 2023. The sequence helps explain why headlines about the same estate carry two different prominent prices: $22.5 million was the list price, while $17.2 million was the reported sale price.

Mansion Global relayed the listing’s description of the estate as “one of the most unique, special and private properties in all of Hidden Hills.” That is promotional language from the listing, not an independent appraisal or a named person’s assessment.
