Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly bought a renovated Beverly Hills home for $9.9 million in December 2021. Reports describe a 1936 house with a spiral staircase, updated kitchen and finishes, a pool, and a detached guesthouse. Published accounts disagree on its bedroom count and square footage, so those figures are best read with their source and date attached.
How much did Leonardo DiCaprio pay for the Beverly Hills house?
Architectural Digest and Realtor.com reported a purchase price of $9.9 million in 2021. Realtor.com said the sale closed on December 3, after the property had been listed for $10.2 million in August. Realtor.com’s sale coverage and Architectural Digest’s 2021 report provide the reported figures.
The price and timeline are historical reports, not a current valuation. The sources do not establish who owns or lives in the house now.
What does the home look like?
Architectural Digest reported that the house was built in 1936 and described a renovated, traditional-leaning residence. Its account highlighted a wrought-iron spiral staircase, marble accents, modern lighting, and a primary bedroom with a cathedral ceiling. The kitchen was described as a gourmet space with high-end stainless-steel appliances and two wine coolers.

Realtor.com’s 2021 description adds white-oak floors, a family room with built-in bookshelves, and an eat-in kitchen with an island. It reported an open entertaining area that leads toward the pool and an upstairs primary suite with a balcony overlooking it. The property was described as sitting on a 0.27-acre lot with olive trees, a gated driveway, outdoor seating, and a fire pit.
Outdoor features in the accounts include a dining area or terrace, a pool, and a fire-pit lounge. Reports also describe a detached guesthouse designed to match the main house. Realtor.com and Architectural Digest covered the property around the 2021 sale.

Why do published reports give different room and size counts?
The 2021 purchase coverage and 2022 rental coverage do not agree on the home’s specifications. Architectural Digest and Realtor.com reported five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, with about 5,000 square feet. In 2022, Architectural Digest described a four-bedroom, six-bathroom home measuring 4,671 square feet. Mansion Global’s 2022 listing coverage also used a four-bedroom, six-bathroom count.
| Coverage | Bedrooms | Bathrooms | Reported area |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architectural Digest, 2021 purchase report | 5 | 5.5 | About 5,000 sq. ft. |
| Realtor.com, 2021 purchase report | 5 | 5.5 | About 5,000 sq. ft. |
| Architectural Digest, 2022 rental report | 4 | 6 | 4,671 sq. ft. |
| Mansion Global, 2022 listing coverage | 4 | 6 | Not stated in its coverage |
The reports do not explain whether the differences reflect listing measurements, a change in how rooms were classified, or an error. Neither set of figures should be treated as a verified, definitive count. What else did the 2022 listing descriptions mention?
Architectural Digest’s later rental article described chevron and white-oak floors, Sub-Zero, Viking, and Wolf kitchen appliances, a beverage center, black Marquina granite, and white Carrara marble. It also noted a breakfast nook, French doors, an outdoor dining terrace, a rectangular pool, a patio, a fire pit, a detached one-car garage, and the guesthouse.
Mansion Global’s 2022 coverage mentioned privacy hedges, a gated setting, a bay-windowed living space with a wet bar, custom steel doors, and a study or office. It described a primary suite with a sunroom and said the guesthouse could serve as another bedroom, gym, or workspace. These are listing-era descriptions, not confirmation of the property’s present condition.

Was the home offered for rent?
Architectural Digest and Mansion Global reported a rental asking price of $32,500 per month in 2022. That figure belongs to historical rental coverage; the reports do not establish that the house is currently available to rent or that the same terms apply today. Architectural Digest and Mansion Global covered that listing in 2022.
