The Income Tax Department and the Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute (NZATI), Jammu, held a TDS awareness programme for government Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) on October 9, 2026. The session covered DDO compliance responsibilities under the Income-tax Act, 2025, including deduction and deposit of tax, statutory returns and reconciliation.
What the October programme covered
Cross Town News reported that the joint outreach programme aimed to improve DDOs’ understanding of revised TDS provisions and their compliance responsibilities. The session addressed:

Keep the other NZATI TDS events separate
NZATI hosted other TDS programmes in 2026, but their details should not be confused with the October session.

What the report does—and does not—establish
The October coverage is a local news account, not an official event notice, transcript or legal text. It supports a summary of the programme’s audience, presenters and reported subject areas, but not detailed legal guidance or a section-by-section explanation of the Income-tax Act, 2025. DDOs needing to apply a rule to a specific transaction should consult current official legal or departmental material rather than infer rates or deadlines from this event summary.
