The reports described a disputed attachment and said an appeal was still expected in October. They identify Salis as an Italian member of the European Parliament—not a member of a body called Congress.
What happened, according to the September reports?
On September 12, 2026, ANSA reported that the Milan Labor Court had ordered Salis to compensate two former assistants, Valentina Dadda and François Gelmetti. The award was described as about €300,000. ANSA said Salis had appealed the judgment and that two requests to suspend its execution had been rejected in August, with legal costs awarded. ANSA attributed the report of an attachment involving roughly €7,000 in a bank account to another newspaper; it did not cite a primary attachment notice or bank record.
These are separate figures and procedural issues: the roughly €300,000 concerns the compensation award, while the reported €7,000 concerns legal costs. The September accounts did not establish that the larger award was taken from an account.
Had the Court of Appeal ruled?
No appellate decision allowing Salis to use an account appears in the cited September coverage. ANSA and Sky TG24 described a hearing in the main case as expected in October 2026, which means those reports do not establish its outcome. Sky TG24 likewise summarized the dispute while describing the appeal as forthcoming.

The reports also refer to a separate appeal concerning the costs ruling cited in connection with the attachment. Salis’s lawyer said that ruling had been appealed and was due for review by the Milan Court of Appeal in October. Neither account supplies an appellate order or confirms that the court lifted an attachment or authorized account use.
Why do the two sides disagree?
Salis’s lawyer on notice and payment
ANSA reported that Salis’s lawyer, Gaspare Emanuele Trizzino, disputed the claim that she had refused to pay. He said she had not been fully made aware of a payment demand and had not received the formal payment notice or attachment document at her registered digital domicile. His statement that there had been “no refusal to pay” is counsel’s position, not a court finding. ANSA

The former assistants’ lawyers on enforcement
Adnkronos reported the lawyers for Dadda and Gelmetti as saying enforcement followed repeated payment requests. They said they would have no difficulty stopping the procedure if Salis paid what was due. That, too, is an attributed account from one side of the dispute, not an adjudicated finding. Adnkronos

What can be stated—and what remains unverified?
- The dispute reported concerns employment litigation brought by two former parliamentary assistants against Salis.
- September coverage described a first-instance compensation award of about €300,000 and a separate reported attachment of roughly €7,000 in legal costs.
- The reports describe competing explanations about payment requests and notice; they do not resolve that disagreement.
- The claim that an appellate body let Salis use an account hours after an announcement that it was frozen is not verified by these reports. Establishing that outcome would require a later reliable report or a primary court record identifying the court, date, case and operative order.
