The IGNOU January 2025 re-registration window is closed. IGNOU’s final extension set the deadline at 31 March 2025, with a ₹200 late fee for eligible programmes. To check instructions for a later cycle, use IGNOU’s official online re-registration portal; dates on the portal apply to the cycle currently listed, not January 2025.

What was the final deadline for January 2025 re-registration?

IGNOU’s announcement archive lists a final extension through 31 March 2025. The notice, dated 18 March 2025, set a ₹200 late fee and applied to programmes offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, except semester-based programmes. The date has passed, so the January 2025 form can no longer be submitted under that extension. See the IGNOU announcements archive for the notice.

Who did the extension apply to?

The notice covered ODL and online programmes, but expressly excluded semester-based programmes. It does not establish that the extension applied to every IGNOU programme or every learner; programme type and mode matter.

Where can you check the current re-registration link and deadline?

For a later cycle, visit the official IGNOU Online Re-Registration portal and follow the dates and instructions displayed there. Portal deadlines change by cycle, so do not use the January 2025 date as a guide to a current application.

IGNOU’s January 2025 Common Prospectus directs learners to the online portal for the July and January re-registration cycles. It also points to digital self-learning materials and other online resources. The prospectus is available from IGNOU’s January 2025 Common Prospectus.

  2. Register or log in on the portal and complete the re-registration form.
  3. Review your details and the declaration before submitting.
