BGR’s Chris Smith says he paid €491 (about $576) for a VIP ticket to a BTS World Tour concert in Munich after spending about 40 minutes in Ticketmaster’s presale queue. He reported being roughly 10,000th in the VIP line while nearly 70,000 people were waiting in the non-VIP queue. Those are figures from one buyer’s January 2026 account—not a standard BTS ticket price or a prediction of anyone else’s chances.
What Chris Smith says his BTS ticket cost
In an account published by BGR and republished by AOL on January 23, 2026, Smith says his debit card was charged €491, approximately $576, for a Munich VIP ticket. He says the purchase followed about 40 minutes of waiting. The charge is his reported individual purchase, not a universal price for BTS tickets.
Smith also reported these prices for the German sale, with fees included:
| Ticket category | Reported price |
|---|---|
| VIP, lower tier | €490.50 including fees |
| VIP, higher tier | €589.50 including fees |
| Non-VIP | €88.50–€494.68 including fees |
The account says Ticketmaster’s site indicated prices would not change between presale and general sale and that dynamic pricing was not being used for this tour. That describes what Smith said he saw during this sale; it should not be read as a current price listing or a promise about other events or regions. Read Smith’s account on AOL.

How the presale queue unfolded
Smith reported being around 10,000th in the VIP queue and seeing nearly 70,000 people in the non-VIP line. The headline rounds that competitive context to 60,000 ARMY members. These are the queue numbers he described, not independently established attendance or demand statistics.
He chose to try for VIP because he believed his position in that line gave him a better chance than joining the much longer non-VIP queue. His account does not establish that VIP queues generally move faster or offer better odds to other buyers; it describes his decision in this sale.

How he prepared and secured a ticket
Smith says he had obtained a $20 BTS ARMY membership in time and registered interest for up to three venues using the same email address as his Ticketmaster account. He selected Munich, Paris, and Madrid, then focused on one venue. These are his descriptions of the process he encountered, not current presale instructions; eligibility and registration rules can change.
He says he used a browser and acknowledged risking two open tabs, despite understanding Ticketmaster to advise against that. When the purchase screen appeared, he initially saw a gray venue map and no apparent VIP availability. After clearing filters once more, he reached an order screen and secured a ticket; he later learned it was for a standing section.

What this account can—and cannot—tell ticket buyers
- It documents one charge: €491 for Smith’s reported VIP ticket in the German sale described in January 2026.
- It shows a queue tradeoff, not a formula: Smith chose the VIP line based on his position and the much larger non-VIP queue, but the account cannot show how another buyer would fare.
- It is not a current availability check: Prices, inventory, tour dates, queue behavior, and presale rules may change. The account is a first-person entertainment/technology report republished by AOL, not an official ticketing notice.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
