Yes. Hyundai Motor America reported 901,686 total U.S. vehicle sales in 2025, up 8% from 2024, while Kia America reported 852,155, up 7%. Those are each company’s reported total-sales figures; Hyundai also reported a separate retail-sales record of 772,712.
How many vehicles did Hyundai and Kia sell in 2025?
The companies’ annual announcements show both brands reached their highest reported U.S. totals to date. Hyundai Motor America said 2025 was its third consecutive year of record total sales; Kia America described its 2025 total as its highest annual sales result.

Figures are company-reported U.S. results. Total sales and retail sales are distinct measures, so the retail figures should not be substituted for the total-sales figures in a direct comparison.
Why Hyundai has another U.S. sales figure
Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Motor America’s parent, reported 984,017 U.S. retail sales in a separate global-results announcement issued Jan. 21, 2026. That release labels the figure as retail sales. Hyundai Motor America’s Jan. 3, 2026 announcement instead reported 901,686 total U.S. sales and 772,712 retail sales. Because the announcements use different reporting bases, the 984,017 figure is not a replacement for Hyundai Motor America’s 901,686 total.

Which Hyundai and Kia models set records?
Hyundai Motor America identified six models with annual sales records: Elantra, Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, IONIQ 5 and Venue. Kia America named four best-ever annual sellers: Carnival, Sportage, Telluride and K4. These company announcements identify record-setting models, but they do not establish a complete ranking of every model or a comparison across all automakers.
What the companies reported about electrified vehicles
Hyundai Motor America said electrified vehicles accounted for 30% of its retail mix in 2025. It reported that hybrid sales rose 36% and electric-vehicle sales rose 7% year over year. Kia America said sales of its electrified models increased 24% and set an annual record. The companies describe different measures, and the announcements do not isolate how much electrified vehicles contributed to the overall sales records.

What the records do—and do not—show
The results establish that both companies reported record U.S. sales in 2025, alongside strong results for several named models and electrified vehicles. They do not, by themselves, explain why sales rose or provide independent validation of the company totals. Hyundai Motor North America president and CEO Randy Parker called the retail result its fifth straight record and described the effort as its “5 for 5 in 2025” mission; that phrase is the company’s characterization of its performance.
