The application deadline for Haryana’s HCS (Judicial Branch) Examination 2024 was January 31, 2024, at 11:55 p.m. It has passed. HPSC advertised 174 Civil Judge (Junior Division) posts, but that total comprised 129 actual vacancies and 45 anticipated vacancies. The High Court of Punjab and Haryana later listed the selection process’s final result on October 15, 2024.
What did “deadline today” mean?
The headline’s “today” referred to January 31, 2024, the last day to apply—not the current date. Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) Advertisement No. 1/2024 opened applications on January 5 and allowed online submissions until 11:55 p.m. on January 31. The notice stated: “The online Applications can be submitted upto 31,01.2024 till 11:55 PM.” Scroll’s January 31, 2024 report also described that date as the deadline.
This was a historical recruitment window. The High Court of Punjab and Haryana’s recruitment archive records preliminary-exam results on April 9, 2024, main written-exam results on August 24, and a final result entry dated October 15, 2024. Check the archive for any later corrections or notices.
What did the 174-post figure include?
HPSC’s Advertisement No. 1/2024, published January 1, 2024, advertised Civil Judge (Junior Division) posts in the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch). It stated that the 174-post total consisted of 129 actual vacancies and 45 anticipated vacancies. Thus, 174 was the total advertised figure, not a count of 174 actual vacancies.

The notice said the examination would be conducted under the Punjab Civil Services (Judicial Branch) Rules, 1951, as applicable to Haryana and amended, including a November 2023 amendment. For the official vacancy details and applicable conditions, consult the Advertisement No. 1/2024.
Who was eligible to apply?
Eligibility was governed by the HPSC notice and its category-specific conditions. The notice set out these core requirements:
Rank #2
- Law degree: A Bachelor of Laws degree, by the closing date, from a university established by law and approved or recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Age: 21 to 42 years as of January 31, 2024, subject to applicable relaxations.
- Other conditions: Reservation rules and category-specific requirements were set out in the notification and should be read directly rather than inferred from the headline vacancy total.
How were applications submitted?
Applications had to be submitted online through the HPSC website. The notice said other submission modes would not be accepted. It also specified that admit cards were to be downloaded from the Commission website rather than sent by post. Because the application window and selection cycle have ended, historic helpline details should not be treated as current support contacts.
