What the 2024 HPCL recruitment covered
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) advertised 29 R&D professional vacancies in its 2024–25 recruitment. Roles included General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Chief Manager, Senior Manager, Manager, Assistant Manager and Senior Officer.
The specialties ranged from analytical chemistry, lubricants, solar energy and combustion research to bioprocess, hydrogen, novel separations, catalyst scale-up, bitumen, water research, petrochemicals, polymer catalysis, catalysis and intellectual property rights. The number of openings varied by role, including single-post vacancies and a two-position Assistant Manager/Manager–Hydrogen opening. The 29-post total applies only to this recruitment round, not to HPCL’s current vacancies.
Deadline and application status
HPCL opened online applications through its Careers section on June 5, 2024, and accepted them until July 20, 2024. The application window has ended. HPCL’s current job openings page lists recruitment information separately; check the relevant notice there for any active opportunity rather than relying on this expired announcement.

Eligibility depended on the position
The notice did not set one qualification or experience threshold for all 29 posts. Many senior or research-focused roles required relevant doctoral degrees, while multiple engineering positions specified relevant M.E. or M.Tech degrees. Minimum experience, maximum age, pay scale and vacancy count also differed by position and specialty.
For the exact requirements for a particular role, consult HPCL’s official detailed recruitment advertisement, which includes the position-wise table. A general summary cannot establish whether a candidate met the age, degree or experience criteria for a specific opening.
Reported application fee
Scroll’s June 6, 2024 coverage reported an application fee of Rs 1,180 plus GST for UR, OBC-NC and EWS applicants, and said reserved-category applicants were exempt. This is a fee summary for the 2024 recruitment, not a current HPCL application charge.
