SiriusXM later said his exclusive live show and classic library would continue through 2028. Stern described the arrangement as giving him “more free time” and a “more flexible schedule,” but the public announcements do not disclose his compensation or precise work requirements.
What Howard Stern’s SiriusXM renewal confirms
Stern announced the renewal while speaking with co-host Robin Quivers. “I’m happy to announce that I’ve figured out a way to have it all: more free time and continuing to be on the radio. So, yes, we’re coming back for three years,” he said in SiriusXM’s December 16, 2025 announcement. Stern’s official site reported the announcement the same day.
Sirius XM Holdings’ February 5, 2026 filing described the renewal as securing three additional years of exclusive interviews. In an August 31, 2026 announcement, SiriusXM said Stern would continue through 2028 with his exclusive live show and classic library. Those statements describe related parts of the arrangement; they do not publish a full contract.
What is—and is not—known about the schedule and deal terms
Stern himself characterized the arrangement as allowing more free time and a more flexible schedule. That is a public description, not a disclosed contractual schedule. The official renewal announcement and company filing do not specify episode counts, required workdays, or compensation. The Associated Press likewise noted that the public announcement provided few details. The AP report covered the announcement and the uncertainty around his future.

Accordingly, reports of a specific contract value or workweek should not be treated as confirmed terms based on the public materials cited here. The confirmed points are the three-year extension, Stern’s own description of greater flexibility, and SiriusXM’s later statement that the live show and library would continue through 2028.

Live show on SiriusXM
SiriusXM said the live show airs exclusively on its service, including Howard 100 and Howard 101. Subscribers can listen in cars, on phones, and on connected devices at home through the SiriusXM app. Its Howard 100 show page lists channel and app listening information.

Adapted version on HBO Max
SiriusXM’s August 31, 2026 release said the new season would have live Monday episodes beginning September 14, with an adapted, streamable version on HBO Max on Thursdays beginning September 17. The HBO Max version is a separate adaptation of the live show, not the live SiriusXM broadcast. SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said the companies had teamed up to create a new video version of the show.
