Energy storage and vehicle deliveries
Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja described energy-storage gross profit as a record for the quarter, while also noting lower sequential deployments. He attributed pressure on vehicle deliveries partly to several weeks of production loss during the Model Y factory transition and to the refreshed Model Y being available in most markets only late in the quarter. The transcript excerpt does not provide a dollar figure for the storage gross profit; consult Tesla’s shareholder deck or filing for numerical results.
Forward-looking statements and forecasts
At the start of the webcast, Tesla Head of Investor Relations Travis Axelrod warned that the discussion included forward-looking statements and that actual events or results could differ because of risks and uncertainties. His warning applied to management’s outlook and predictions on that call. Elon Musk’s autonomy and robotaxi comments should likewise be understood as forecasts or plans stated on April 22, 2025, not as proof of what later happened.
