For a monthly AT&T plan, open the AT&T app and check Home → Billing and payments for the current bill and due date. For AT&T PREPAID, open paygonline.com in Safari and sign in to see Current Balance. The right place depends on whether you mean a bill, prepaid funds, usage, or a phone-installment amount.
First, identify which AT&T balance you need

AT&T’s current app is listed in Apple’s App Store as AT&T; some people may still refer to it as myAT&T. AT&T says the app can show bills and due dates, manage payments and AutoPay, and provide device and usage information. Menu labels and layout can vary by app version, account type, and permissions.

Check a postpaid AT&T bill on iPhone
- Open the AT&T app and sign in with your AT&T user ID and password. Complete any security verification it requests.
- Stay on the Home screen and find Billing and payments.
- Read the current bill or amount due and its due date. Tap the bill or its details control if you need to inspect charges, credits, payments, or line-level information.
- If multiple AT&T services are linked, select the correct wireless or internet account before interpreting the amount.
You do not need to tap Make a payment just to view the bill. If the total looks unexpected, open the bill details first and check for equipment or installment charges, taxes and fees, one-time charges, credits, AutoPay status, and payments that may not yet be reflected. Do not assume an on-screen amount is final or updates in real time for every account.
AT&T’s app support page describes Billing and payments as the area for the current bill and due date, payments, and AutoPay. Its support page was last updated May 14, 2026; interface details may change.

Check an AT&T PREPAID balance in Safari
PREPAID uses a separate account flow; do not assume its balance appears in the postpaid bill screen. AT&T’s iPhone instructions direct PREPAID customers to the account site:
- Open Safari and go to paygonline.com.
- Enter your AT&T PREPAID wireless number as the username and your four-digit password.
- Tap Sign in.
- Read Current Balance on the account page. Choose Make a Payment only if you intend to add funds.
The account menu also provides options such as AutoPay, add-ons, plan changes, and multi-line management. AT&T says prepaid account tools, including checking a balance and managing usage, are available online from any device; see its PREPAID support page.
If the PREPAID site is unavailable
AT&T’s iPhone PREPAID instructions say to open the Phone app, tap the dial pad, enter 611, and call. For a landline, AT&T lists 1-800-901-9878. Contact procedures can change, so follow any current prompts.

Check remaining data, talk, text, and hotspot usage
Usage is activity or allowance information, not a dollar balance. In the AT&T app, select the relevant wireless service, phone number, or device, then open Usage or the usage details for that device. Review the categories shown and confirm the selected line if the account has multiple phones.

Use iPhone Settings for a device-side data check
- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Data, depending on your iOS language or region.
- Review the cellular-data total and app-by-app usage. Scroll to the bottom to find the option to reset statistics when starting a new tracking period.
This is the iPhone’s local counter, not AT&T’s official billing record. Its tracking period may differ from your carrier billing cycle, and it does not show a bill amount or PREPAID dollar balance. For a family or multi-line account, use AT&T’s account tools to inspect carrier-level usage. If the totals differ, compare the dates covered and check whether you are comparing the same line and categories.

Find the remaining balance on an iPhone installment
If by “account balance” you mean what remains owed for the phone itself, open the AT&T app, select the relevant wireless line or device, and look through its device, plan, billing, or installment details. If you cannot find the information there, sign in to your AT&T account in Safari and inspect the bill or device-management area.
AT&T provides device and plan management in its app, but there is not one published menu path that applies to every account configuration. Keep the installment amount distinct from the monthly service bill and any PREPAID balance.

Troubleshoot a missing or unexpected balance
The app shows no account information
- Confirm that you signed in with the correct AT&T user ID.
- Check whether the account is personal or business, postpaid or PREPAID, and whether you selected the right service.
- Switch to the wireless line or device you want to inspect.
- Update the AT&T app through the App Store, then force-close and reopen it.
- Try signing in through Safari if the app still does not show the account.
- If a security check or account lock blocks an action, follow AT&T’s prompts or contact support.
AT&T says Wireless Account Lock can disable certain transactions and account changes for wireless lines; account-lock options are available through account settings in the app. Details are on its app support page.

You see usage but not the bill
Usage and billing are separate areas. Return to Home → Billing and payments for a postpaid bill, or use the PREPAID account site for a prepaid current balance.
Your PREPAID sign-in fails
Recheck the wireless number and four-digit password, then use the account-recovery option AT&T presents. You can also try Safari if you were using the app, or call 611 from the AT&T phone.

Can I check my AT&T balance without the app?
Yes. For AT&T PREPAID, sign in at paygonline.com in Safari. For a postpaid bill, use AT&T’s account website in Safari; the precise pages can depend on account type and sign-in.

Is “Current Balance” the same as “Amount Due”?
Not necessarily. AT&T uses Current Balance on the PREPAID account page; postpaid customers should use the current bill or amount due shown in Billing and payments.
Can I check another line on my family account?
If your account access allows it, select the other wireless number or device in the AT&T app before opening usage or device details. The account’s permissions determine what information is available.
Does AT&T show iMessages in text usage?
Not necessarily. iMessages and Android Advanced Messages may use Wi-Fi or data, so they may not appear as ordinary cellular text records.
Why does the app show usage but not a bill?
