How to See How Much Your Xbox Account Is Worth

You can check your Microsoft account balance and review Xbox-related purchases, but neither figure is an official estimate of what an Xbox account is worth. Microsoft’s account tools show spendable store credit and past transactions; its policies restrict transferring or selling account access and digital products.

What “account worth” can mean

There are three different figures people may have in mind:

• Current balance: Microsoft account credit available for eligible purchases. Check it in your account settings.
• Past spending: Completed transactions recorded in your order history. This is a record of what you paid, not what the account is worth today.
• Resale value: A hypothetical price someone might offer for the account or its library. Microsoft’s official account tools do not provide an appraisal, and its policies prohibit account sales and restrict transferring digital products.

Check your Microsoft account balance

1. Sign in to account.microsoft.com/billing/payments with the Microsoft account you use for Xbox.
2. Review the displayed Microsoft account balance.

This is store credit, not cash or a sale price. Microsoft says account money is for eligible Microsoft Store purchases and generally cannot be exchanged for cash, gift certificates, or similar payment products, subject to legal exceptions. See Microsoft’s guidance on spending account money.

Review your Xbox purchase history

1. Go to account.microsoft.com/billing and sign in to the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox purchases. If you use more than one account, check the one that made the purchases.
2. Open Payment & billing > Order history.
3. Choose the relevant date range and order view, then inspect completed or redeemed entries for games, apps, and subscriptions.

Microsoft’s order-history instructions explain the available filters and statuses. An in-progress charge has not yet posted, so it should not be treated as a completed purchase. Adding completed orders can help you estimate historical spending, but it does not establish current resale value.

Why game prices and account features do not establish a sale price

Xbox digital-game licenses are associated with a Microsoft account. Microsoft’s usage rules also describe access through signing in with the licensed account and sharing on a designated Home Xbox. These are access arrangements, not proof that a library is a freely transferable asset. See Microsoft’s Digital Goods usage rules.

Adding current store prices for games, subscriptions, achievements, or account age would not produce an official valuation. If you are considering selling the account

Xbox Community Standards prohibit giving another person access to your Microsoft account and prohibit selling or attempting to sell an account or gamertag. Microsoft’s Gaming Web Purchase Service terms also say Digital Products have no monetary value and may not be transferred to another person or redeemed for money or other things of monetary value. The latter terms apply to that service; consult the applicable terms for your region and product.
