Reset a forgotten Walmart.com password through the registered email, reactivate a canceled Walmart+ membership in your account settings, and contact Walmart Customer Care if Walmart restricted your account. A membership cancellation does not disable your Walmart.com sign-in.
First, identify what you need to reactivate
“Reactivate my Walmart account” can mean restoring sign-in access, fixing a verification problem, resuming Walmart+ benefits, or resolving an account restriction. Use the case that matches the message you see:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- You forgot your password: use Walmart’s password-reset flow.
- You cannot receive a verification code: check access to the email address or phone number registered to the account.
- Your Walmart+ membership was canceled: reactivate the membership separately in account settings.
- Walmart says your account is restricted or terminated: contact Walmart through its official Help Center; a password reset is not an account reinstatement process.
Reset a forgotten Walmart.com password
- On Walmart’s sign-in screen, enter the email address associated with the account and select Continue.
- Under the password field, select Forgot password, then choose Send code.
- Check the registered email inbox and its junk or spam folder for Walmart’s six-digit code. Walmart says the code expires after 30 minutes; if it expires, request another code. See Walmart’s password instructions.
- Enter the code, create a new password, and sign in. Walmart requires at least eight characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and at least one number or special character. The password must not be one you have used before.
If the reset email or code does not arrive
Confirm that you entered the email address registered to the account, then check spam or junk. Walmart says that if you cannot access the email linked to your Walmart.com account, you must create a new account. Changing the email address alone does not bypass the verification requirement. Follow Walmart’s current password help for the available options.

Walmart’s account help says it verifies a mobile number by text and that a phone number can be associated with only one Walmart account at a time. It also says customers who cannot access their email to update a mobile number must set up a new Walmart account to continue shopping. Because the right next step depends on the exact error and what account information you can still access, use Walmart’s account help rather than creating duplicate accounts as a general workaround.

Reactivate a canceled Walmart+ membership
Walmart+ membership is separate from access to your Walmart.com account. If you canceled the membership but want to resume it before the current billing cycle ends:
- Sign in to your Walmart account.
- Select Account, then open Walmart+.
- Select Reactivate membership.
If reactivation does not work, check whether the membership’s payment method is expired or invalid. Walmart’s billing instructions give this path to update it: Walmart+ > Manage Membership > Payments & Billing > Change beside the current payment method. Then try reactivating again. If Walmart restricted or terminated your account
Walmart’s terms say an account may be restricted or terminated at its discretion. The public password and account help pages do not set out a general self-service reinstatement or appeal process for an account-level restriction. Use the official Walmart Help Center or Customer Care, and describe the restriction message you see. Do not assume that changing your password will remove an account restriction, and do not rely on unofficial support numbers or promises of restoration. Unrecognized orders or charges call for a security and payment response, not just routine password recovery. Walmart directs customers to its Chat with us support and says to type Unauthorized Charges when prompted. It also advises contacting your bank or card issuer to report unauthorized use and dispute charges, resetting your Walmart password, deleting saved payment details, and changing any reused passwords on other sites.
