Use a Public Profile to share content and learn what resonates. These are tools for testing a growth strategy, not guarantees of sales or returns.
Start with one business outcome
Choose the result you want before creating a campaign. Snapchat’s getting-started guide lists awareness, lead generation, app installs and online sales as campaign objectives. For an online store, for example, a campaign intended to drive purchases should be set up around that conversion goal rather than judged only by views or clicks. See Snapchat’s guide to getting started with advertising.
Write down the action that would make the campaign useful to your business: a qualified inquiry, an app installation or a completed purchase. That gives you a basis for choosing what to measure later.
Set a spending limit before you launch
Snapchat’s guide says advertisers can set daily and lifetime spend limits, view estimated results, and start or stop ads. Use those controls to cap a test at an amount your business can afford to spend learning from. The cited guidance does not establish a universal effective budget or minimum, so check the current options in Ads Manager rather than relying on a generic figure.

Choose an audience that fits the goal
Snapchat’s getting-started guidance describes several targeting options. Consider them in light of who is most likely to take the action you chose:
- Demographic and location targeting: Narrow delivery using the audience characteristics and places relevant to your business.
- Predefined interest audiences: Reach people grouped by interests available in the platform.
- Custom Audiences: Use eligible contact information or website activity to reach an audience connected to your business.
- Lookalike Audiences: Find people similar to an existing customer audience.
These are ways to define who may see an ad, not evidence that a particular segment will convert. Compare audience choices against your actual customers and campaign objective.
Create a clear vertical ad
Snapchat’s first-ad guide recommends using a photo or video, focusing on one key message with a simple headline, and including a call to action. Make it easy for someone watching on a phone to understand what you offer and what to do next. For a product demonstration, a smartphone tripod can help stabilize phone-shot footage, but it is optional equipment, not a Snapchat requirement. See Snapchat’s first-ad guidance.
Measure the campaign against its purpose
Ads Manager reports amount spent, paid impressions, clicks, click rate and video views. Use the measures that match the job of the campaign: delivery and impressions for awareness, clicks or video views for engagement, and recorded website actions for conversion campaigns. Snap’s measurement guidance advises avoiding changes during the first four days so the ad system can use an exploration phase. That is platform advice, not a guarantee that every campaign will perform well or follow the same learning timeline.

Rank #3
For website outcomes, Snap Pixel can track events such as page views, add-to-cart actions, purchases and sign-ups. Snap describes using these events for measurement, audience building and optimization. Evaluate actions tied to your goal—such as leads or purchases—and the associated costs where Ads Manager makes them available, rather than treating a high click count as proof of business growth. See Snap’s measurement overview and Snap Pixel information.
Set up website tracking with privacy in mind
Snap describes Snap Pixel as browser-based website code and Conversions API as a server-to-server event connection. It recommends using both together for a fuller view of website events. Advertisers remain responsible for applicable privacy and data-protection requirements, including configuring their sites to honor users’ rights. Do not send sensitive data that Snap prohibits. Review Snap’s Pixel and Conversions API guidance and the rules that apply to your business and customers.
Use your Public Profile to learn what content works
A Public Profile gives a business a place to publish content. Snap describes Promote as a way to extend the reach of a profile or selected content; its Insights tab can show content performance, subscriber growth, Spotlight views and Stories views. Use those signals to learn which content attracts attention and subscribers, then decide whether extending its reach fits your goal. The available guidance does not establish that every business should pay to promote content or that a particular posting schedule works across industries. See Snap’s Public Profiles information.

When comparing campaigns, keep the comparison focused: objective, audience, creative message and format, spend, and the outcome measured. Avoid changing several of these at once if you want to understand what influenced the result. Snap identifies Campaign Lab and split testing as tools for forming hypotheses and learning what is working; availability and settings should be checked in Ads Manager. See Snap’s measurement guidance.
Best Value
Snap’s July 11, 2023 blog reported that furniture retailer Valyou Furniture achieved an 80x return on ad spend using Snap Pixel to help increase reach and sales. This is a vendor-published case result, not an independent benchmark or a forecast for another business. It should not be used to set a sales expectation or budget.
