There is not enough verified evidence to name nine current Amazon sandals as “podiatrist-approved.” The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) lists the Skechers Go Walk Arch Fit 2.0 Sandal as a product recognized through its Seal program, but that recognition is product-specific and is not an endorsement or an individual podiatrist’s recommendation. Use the exact model name to check current Amazon availability, then assess fit and construction rather than treating a brand name or “arch support” label as proof.
What “podiatrist-approved” means here
APMA’s Seal of Acceptance applies to specific products reviewed by its podiatrists. Its FAQ explains: “The Seal is not an endorsement, but a recognition granted to products.” The program overview also says manufacturers submit products for review; APMA does not test every product on the market. A listed brand therefore does not mean all of its sandals are accepted, and the absence of a product from the database is not proof that it is unsafe.
Acceptance can last up to three years and may be renewed at the manufacturer’s request. Check the current APMA database for the exact product before relying on its status. See the APMA Seal of Acceptance FAQ and the program overview and product listing.
One exact sandal model to investigate
Skechers Go Walk Arch Fit 2.0 Sandal
APMA’s product database identifies the Skechers Go Walk Arch Fit 2.0 Sandal and Skechers USA, Inc. That makes it a concrete model to check—not evidence that every Skechers sandal is accepted or that a particular clinician recommends it. The database record does not establish Amazon inventory, price, sizes, or current listing details, so search Amazon using the full model name and confirm that the listing matches the product you intend to buy.
#1 Best Overall
Before ordering, compare the Amazon listing’s model name, photos, size options, return terms, and seller details with the APMA product record. Product titles can be similar; do not assume a different version or a listing that merely uses “Arch Fit” in its title is the same accepted model. Check APMA’s product database.
How to choose a summer sandal for fit and support
APMA’s sandal guidance treats styles differently: stability, traction, pressure, and fit vary by design. Its advice is general consumer guidance, not a diagnosis or individualized treatment plan. Use these checks when comparing sandals:
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
- Fit the footbed. In strappy sandals, toes and heels should not hang over the edge. A sandal that is too short or narrow can leave parts of the foot unsupported.
- Check stability and grip. APMA advises considering traction and a wider, flatter wedge where relevant, and cautions against soles that twist excessively. A tall or unstable design may be a poor choice for routine walking.
- Consider the style’s trade-offs. APMA discusses wedges and espadrilles, peep-toe sandals, flats and slides, platforms and high heels, and gladiator or strappy sandals. It recommends limiting wear of some styles and favoring lower, stable heels; a style’s appearance alone does not establish support.
- Assess adjustability and comfort. Straps should hold the foot securely without uncomfortable pressure. Where available, use adjustment and width options to achieve a secure fit rather than relying on a size label alone.
- Match the sandal to the use. A sandal for occasional wear may not be suitable for long walks. Consider cushioning, support, outsole traction, and the surface and duration of use.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this is not a verified list of nine Amazon picks
A nine-product ranking would require confirming nine live Amazon listings and checking each exact sandal model against APMA’s product records. That evidence is not established here. OOFOS and Vionic appear among companies or products in APMA’s database, but that alone does not verify acceptance for any particular summer sandal. Do not infer model approval from a company name; look up the exact product.

Likewise, “podiatrist-approved” should not be used to imply individual recommendations when the available evidence is an APMA program recognition. A credible product comparison would also need current listing details and model-level information on fit, adjustability, support, traction, and materials—not merely a brand’s reputation or a marketplace search result.
